How I Organize Online Classes
-
I came up with this idea a few months ago. The way that it works in my university is that each professor shares Google Meet / Zoom links of their classes and these are either always constant or constant for a day of the week. Example for the latter: Link to Monday DB class is the same for all Mondays but the Tuesday link is different.
My classmates use Google Calendar for organizing classes but I'm not fond of calendar apps be it offline or online and that might be because they are too advanced for my use cases. I'm aware that Vivaldi Calendar came out in the latest snapshot but I haven't upgraded yet.
So, I came up with the idea of using bookmarks for every period of the week. Vivaldi allows multiple bookmarks for the same web page and I use the nicknames in Quick Commands to go to the classes quickly. Vivaldi also allows bookmarks without a URL, and I can use that feature to store empty periods.
"w pm" would stand for Wednesday Probability Models class. Yes, it took me like ten minutes to enter all my bookmarks in but it was worth it.
For Google Meet, I also use extensions for auto-joining and chat notifications.
Edit: Even though my semester is over, it might be problematic for me to share the links publicly, so I blurred out an entire rectangle.

Hi,
What does it mean?
Time to find/open the Bookmarks?

@Zalex108 The time it took to initially populate my Classes folder with links and bookmark names.

@aqm That's a clever way to use Bookmarks
A+ for creative thinkingYou're going to really love the Vivaldi Calendar
(please install the latest snapshot as Standalone and test it!) -
Oh!
Ok! xD
And how about Sessions? 1 for each day and close the tab for each finished class.
If you just take Notes, and don't need to search online during the class.
Just keep the original Full Session and do not overwrite it.
-
@Zalex108 I've found Sessions quite inconvenient even for general use. I just put all the tabs in a tab stack and bookmark it instead. I don't use the Sessions panel mod.
-
It depends on the situation.
It helps on saving session work in case of failure keeping opened Tabs safe.
As a multiple "Continue where I left" for documentation and other researches.
Also, for sites like monitoring websites, which you do not navigate away from them.
You can use the Tile option and see many tabs at the same time.--
And many other uses I don't know.
That would deserve a New Topic! :smiling_face_with_open_mouth_closed_eyes:

@Zalex108 In my opinion, tab tiling is not as useful as you would think. Since I've started using Vivaldi, there have been some instances where I would employ Vivaldi features when I could have worked more effectively without them.
-
It needs some time to figure it out and find out the usefulness.
For tiling, you would need 2 Screens or more or one in full screen and just work for a period of time.
Usually, Studying, working, researching... you end up with many tabs.
Sometimes not all users knows the many features it has and its combinations.
But if even knowing those features are not enough useful to use it, fine.
