Multiple Word Search Filter with AND / OR functionality
-
It would be nice if one could create a search filter with multiple words but not require that they all be present in the results. An 'and/or' functionality would be appreciated. By the way, I'm finding that sometimes I am not given an option to save a search for some reason....

AND/OR would be useful for searches

Hi,
How did you manage to create a search filter?
I did not find a way. -
@fauthd Underneath the Search box there should be a 'Save' button. It doesn't always appear, though, so I think Vivaldi Mail is buggy. In the cases in which the 'Save' button doesn't appear (in a new search), I've noticed that there is a 'Delete' button instead (which is useless if you haven't even saved the search as a filter yet!).

@fauthd To create the filters you can also go to Settings → Mail → Mail Filters
It still doesn't work very well, it still needs treatment. -
Oh, and NOT operator too
-
Yeah, I was looking for exactly this... Filters need a lot more flexibility so they can do what M2 was doing with labels.

We’ve switched to fts5 that supports substring searches, logical operators like AND, OR, NOT (have to be upper case) to name a few things. You can also specify from:, to:, cc:, body:, subject:.
A few examples:
- United States (messages having both words)
- United NOT States (message have the first word but not the second)
- United OR States (messages having either word)
- nite OR ates (emphasizing that substring search also works)
- to:“[email protected]” NOT cc:“[email protected]”
- subject:Vivaldi OR body:browser
It's still a bit hidden as we need to change the settings and such, but we're getting closer.

I agree, it is well hidden. But in 4.1 I happened to find some things in the email configuration that really surprised me. And solved some of the aforementioned problems/wishes

@gmg is Sender field supported? Probably it would help. I mean,
from:Sender
don't seems to work whilefrom:[email protected]
does
