Microsoft Calendar Sync support
-
Currently you can use a Microsoft calendar as a read-only ICS link, But as a long term goal, I think it would be nice to offer people an alternative to Microsoft Outlook that is fully syncable and usable.
Currently the only closed API being developed for the calendar is google's (specifically for tasks). This is difficult enough for the developers to deal with ("Google has (after 9 months) still not approved our account access Consent Screen") so adding in new services that use closed protocols/APIs will likely not happen.

It is up to Microsoft to offer connectivity to they're calendar service, preferably using the open standard CalDAV, which Vivaldi already supports. I have not seen any info on if Microsoft plans to open up they're API to 3rd parties. If I'm wrong please correct me. Until then you can always use the Vivaldi.net calendar service.
Google offers two protocols for syncing calendar events: CalDAV and they're own proprietary protocol. Vivaldi syncs events with Google using CalDAV. Tasks/vtodos are synced using Google's proprietary protocol. Syncing with Google works now, but will hopefully be approved by Google soon. Until then users get a warning stating that Vivaldi has not been approved.

@arnar I know of no such open support. So this request is very much something to leave on the back burner. If I ever do see any APIs or protocols that start to open up, I will be sure to update you all.

I too want this. The calendar is useless for me if it doesn't properly support my Microsoft calendar. I know we have to wait for Microsoft, I'm just saying I can't use the calendar right now.

DavMail
is probably what you are looking for (if you do not want to wait for Microsoft). -
