Maybe a demo picture? Did you try to use shortcuts and left panel in the floating mode like @Pesala suggests?

Believe it or not, those few cm make a difference. Also, when I click on any of the panel options, it turns the current page so responsive that some information disappears, etc.

Maybe I want to see my current downloads status without making my current viewing page so responsive:
