Calendar: recurring events don't work as expected
-
Hello,
I wanted to test vivaldi's CalDAV and CardDAV services in the webmail. CardDAV seems to work fine but calendar don't work very well. Our goal was to list vivaldi.net on the list of supported services for our CalDAV/CardDAV client DAVx⁵ (an Android app).
It seems the calendar in the webmail has some problems with creating and editing recurring events.
What I did:
- create a recurring event: every day - repeat 5 times
- click an instance and try to delete the second entry.
- the whole event incl all recurrances is gone
Expected: only the second instance should be deleted.
Additionally editing one instance moves the complete event to a wrong position.
You're also unable to edit one instance to be at a different time. Instead all events are edited.
Can someone look into that? If you use Kolab as a backend - this should theoretically work flawlessly as we already list KolabNow as supported service.
Thank you for looking into it!

Thank you, it most likely is a Roundcube issue - their CalDAV service is currently not working correctly.
EDIT: Just tested it with demo.roundcubeplus.com - the issue described above is working there. So itmust something additionally.

@Gwen-Dragon Hi again! Any update in this issue? If roundcube itself is working why does the fix is not coming to vivaldis calendar backend?
Vivaldi Calendar is still behaving incorrectly with exceptions for recurring events. I would like to recommend vivaldi on our page for tested services here: https://www.davx5.com/tested-with, but that issue is a real blocker. I've also tested the CardDAV contacts and that seems to be working fine in two-way-sync.
