Edge on Linux: Thoughts from a Linux user
-
@dshintag , I don't like Edge very much, it's too basic for me. Regarding privacy, ok, at this point it's better than Chrome. I think that while MS is not a beacon of privacy, unlike Gargle, it has no need to make money from user data, MS makes money from its software, which is not exactly cheap.
Edited to provide spiritual peace to @Steffie

I'm confused. There seems to be a word that many in this thread are using, but i don't know what it is. Each time it appears, all i see is .
It's a complete mystery to me.

@Steffie Don't be so harsh with β¦ What has it done to deserve this?

Thanks, but though you correctly understand my opinion of that company, in this case that was not the target of my post. Clue: count the number of individual emojis, assume a ratio of 1 emoji: 1 letter, then ponder what topical word in this thread might correspond.

@Steffie Just trying to discover the hidden word...

@Steffie Sorry, my mistake, I didn't see it correctly. I saw something like
tropical

-
@Gwen-Dragon I believe it was more related to the fact I'm Belgian.
But your statement is correct (because I don't like beer). -
@Ornorm Yes, it was, obviously, a wink to Belgian beers.

The only thing come in my mind if I hear "Australia" is:

@Gwen-Dragon Yes, you misunderstood . My post was a reply to @Ornorm, not to Steffie. He's the one who saw .
-
@Gwen-Dragon I suggested Ornorm Belgian beers instead of cocktails. Nothing to do with Steffie or Australia . Kind of private joke, my mistake.

and are fine but the thread went OT. Workaround:
-
@hlehyaric Well Dep.of Justice and court were eating his for a short time but then Balmer & lobbyists freed him so that he can build toilets now in India.

My opinion: Why would anyone in their right mind use a Microsoft program on Linux? Utter madness.
Very well said! Totally crazy to use anything MS puts out!
-
@tosim , makes more sense than using Chrome or Opera (current version) on Linux, searching with Gargle and posting in Fakebook.
-
@Hadden89 Oh damn you! I was already living on the edge with the other recent posts here [don't worry about your confusion Lilo, i have no doubt that in some mysterious way it was probably all my fault, again], then this one made me choke on my muesli & have a coughing fit. You monster!

Edge on Linux...
- Well it is terribly Fast but FF and Vivaldi are both Syncing and have extensions to load
- Has an option to prevent sites from exfiltrating what is in your Clipboard cache
- Has option to clear cookies, cache, etc on exit
- Has no Menu Bar
- Privacy options ~
- Must login to Chrome Play Store
- Tab controls
We'll see how things go.
Microsoft + Chromium, what could possibly go wrong?
