Minor update for Vivaldi Desktop Browser 3.4
-
Thanks a lot for also fixing VB-71874 (which you mention above without including that bug ID). I really appreciate that you react on bug reports even when they affect only a minority of users.
-
@rseiler: It was a recently reported bug (by Jon no less, with regards to a specific site) but it may have improved things on other sites. Feel free to check and if not we can look at gdocs again specifically.

I knew the 0-day fix was coming ASAP.
Yeah, there was a build planned for this morning (Norwegian time) but it had a bad issue with context menus, related to a fix we looked at taking in. We decided we didn't want you to wait another day, so a little late work and you get a build now instead.
-
@gschwarz: Glad to hear that it is working for you now.
-
@Ruarí , wow, do developers eat in front of the PC or do they also pause from time to time?

@folgore101: You mean "you" in the plural sense right (i.e. the Vivaldi team)? I didn't fix a single bug!
Of course, for the whole team, even for those who haven't fixed bugs. :face_with_stuck-out_tongue_winking_eye:

@folgore101: Oh and congrats on first post!
Thanks, probably @olli he's already sleeping.
-
@folgore101: @olli never sleeps. I strongly suspect he isn't even human!
-
And this is why break mode was born!
-
@Ruarí Ye can't take a break now, you're on a roll!
-
@Ruarí with the remaining
debian
repository key now down to 3 months lifetime, are there plans to use the new/secure/preferred way of distributing 3rd party keys:- add
signed-by
attribute to${APT_SOURCESDIR}/vivaldi.list
- store Vivaldi keyring in
/usr/share/keyrings
(e.g. asvivaldi-browser.gpg
)
in the future?

Thanks--please fix the dead bird problem--

@becm: Hmm yes, thanks for the reminder!

VB-71874
What is that one? All of them in the list have a bug#, but not that one.
-
@pesala: Same here. Using an extension having native browser function gives me agony...
-
-> Keyboard shorctut for mute/unmute looks like fixed as welldoh: I forgot I bound a global key from the OS for circumventing this bug , so status remains not fixed.-> Though quick-command, mouse gesture not (working)
-> Please take a look at bug VB-60901 which literally smashes any intent of making a pinned audio tab useful (you lose the audio indicator if you perform any Close other tabs/Close Tabs to the Left action). It's been almost a year, please...

What's going on VB-73168(Periodic Reload)?
-
@rextilleon: The one site I saw consistently showing dead birds in 3.4 (but not before), after a minute or two of being on the site, was Yahoo (including its subdomains). But somehow in this build it's no longer happening. Have you seen no improvement at all with whatever sites you've noticed?
-
@tree1891: We are aware of the issue, but have no fix for it yet
-
@CptGuapo I have used FastStone Capture for years so the only time I would use the Vivaldi feature is to capture a long page, which is much faster for that than FastStone.
