Tab cycler is really, really bad

Tab cycler... honestly kinda sucks. I try to go without the tab bar for reasons explained in another post, but the tab cycler seriously leaves me wanting for something better.
It's incredibly clunky and slow, without any kind of quickswitch, and the fact it stays open until you press enter or click a tab or dismiss it in some way.
It also clashes with ANY reasonable keybind you may want to use, because of system reasons. The entire mouse is locked off from it [meaning you can't set them to Ctrl+Scroll up/down] meaning to get one that works, it's probably going to be very, very clunky and require shortcuts that are likely half the keyboard or more apart, unless you have an unorthodox one, in which case it will be very tough for regular users to get used to.
The issue of dismissing it just makes it slow. As soon as i let go of the modifier key that activates the second keybind, it should switch tabs.
Another issue is that 9/10 times, the modifier you use, is likely going to be used for SOMETHING you may have selected right now, and unselecting/unfocusing it in some circumstances is nigh on impossible, meaning you have to mess around until you can find a point where you can switch.
And honestly, my only solution is to just... Make a tab scroller for when you mouse over the titlebar and scroll. It'll put your current title in the form of a centered tab, the rest appearing around it for you to scroll to. If you have too many tabs, i have zero ideas how this would work without obscuring them.
Or, there should just be some alternative mouse-controlled option. A button, somewhere, that opens up some kind of tab viewer, whether it be the cycler or something else, where you just... click it with your mouse.
As it stands, for most regular users looking to change up their web browsing experience, removing the tab bar just isn't viable unless you're willing to stick with something weird for a little while until you get used to it. I'm going to TRY to stick to the cycler, but others might not be able to stomach it because it's just kinda... bad.

A note: We here in the forum maintain a friendly tone.
You can hide the tab bar using this modification: https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/49794/help-button-to-hide-vertical-tabbar/9

The thread title is really, really bad.
Is your request to make the tab cycler really, really bad, or to make it better?
I suggest asking first and getting your ducks in a row before making a request for a new feature, or an improvement to an existing feature.
- The default shortcuts of Ctrl+Tab and Ctrl+Shift+Tab can be modified to suit your own preferences.
- When you release the Shortcut, the tab selected in the cycler gains focus. There is no need to press Enter or click to dismiss the tab cycler.
- The Tab Cycler can be displayed as a list or not shown at all. See Settings, Tabs, Tab Cycling
- Rolling the mouse wheel over the tabs can be enabled:
Switch Tabs by Scrolling

The tab cycler is great. It's not slow or clunky and in fact I couldn't do without it. Sometimes it does hang around if I change tabs quickly while loading but an extra press of Ctrl fixes it. If I could find a way to reproduce I would obviously report it.
Ctrl+Tab is a standard combo for MDI interface switching, at least on Windows, and it does not interfere with other key binds.
If there was an option to not show the thumbnails that would be even better, since I consider those unneeded fluff when displayed as a list. But there's not a lot of overhead from showing those as they're already created anyway.

Additionally to what Pesala said, everything is here https://help.vivaldi.com/article/tab-features/#cycling under cycling and switching. (tl;dr holding the RMB and scrolling, F2)

@Vyadei I agree in the fact Vivaldi'S Tab Cycler is slow in changing tabs if shown as list or preview.
Don't have any slowdowns at all with dozens of tabs, hardware acceleration on/off is indifferent, maybe it's noticeable on old CPUs, but I can't test it, so with all that and fwiw -just like OP- ...

...what about volume control though?

@npro Hey, I'm hoping you can help me with a problem I've run into when i'm using ctrl+tab or ctrl+shift+tab to cycle through my browser tabs. Some sites will hijack the tab button as an element selector and stop my tab cycling in its tracks. Getting off that page requires using the mouse or closing the page with ctrl+w.

@fuccoff Are you displaying the Tab Cycler?
Settings, Tabs, Tab Features, Tab Cycling:
Show Tab Cycler- Display Tab Cycler as List
You can also choose to use different shortcuts, e.g. Alt+Left/Right cursor. (Settings, Keyboard, Tab, Tab Cycler Back/Forward).
