Notepads - A modern, lightweight text editor with a minimalist design. Developed by a Microsoft programmer ...too bad that it is not officially included in Microsoft 10. Compared to the old Notpad app in Windows 10 very modern.

@stardepp What, no CSS syntax colouring? Wouldn't do for me I'm afraid, gotten too spoiled
-
@Pathduck I donโt think itโs a text editor in a coding sense, itโs literally meant for taking notes/writing markdown. Why not?

@Catweazle Are we doing text editor suggestions now?
In this case Iโm gonna suggest vim. Itโs the only text editor you should use in combination with Vivaldi, because both start withvi

For taking notes, I've found nothing that is as good as OneNote. In the past, I've written some pretty in depth code with Notepad, but that's just asking for pain and a good way to make yourself hate programming, period (or should I say missing period). On Windows, I like EditPlus & Atom, as well as Visual Studio of course. All 3 find their way into my Windows boxes, and OneNote finds its way onto every device.

@Catweazle Have you got the brand new update yet?
https://www.giuspen.com/2020/09/cherrytree-0-99-13-issued/
I like the enhancements a lot, but i think there might be a bug.
New: it is configurable whether to wrap or not the nodes names in the tree, off by default
I cannot now get my tree nodes to wrap anymore, consequently many of them now are mostly unreadable, unless i drag the tree-width to a huge value [highly impractical].
Is it working properly for you?
-
@Steffie , I don't use it often, this is why I haven't updated it either and I still have the same version from a long time ago. This one works well without problems. If you say that the new version does not work well, you may need to contact the author and wait for the next update.
