Dev Tools - Responsive mode doesn't work
-
It seems that Responsive Mode is severely broken on both MacOS and Windows 10 (Vivaldi 3.3.2022.39 (Stable channel) (64-bit)). After choosing a device from dropdown list - nothing happens.
Steps to reproduce:
- Open any website
- Open dev tools (Cmd+Shift+I)
- Open Responsive Mode (Cmd+Shift+M)
- Try to choose a device from dropdown. Even though dropdown opens and device list is clickable, after choosing any device (Pixel 2, iPhone 6/7/8, whatever) top bar still shows Responsive and resolution is unchanged, as seen in pictures.

@TheJavaGuy Hi, The developers know about this bug.
The workaround for now is to dock the devtools to the page.

That explains why I don't see this issue.

@LonM Nice that we have a workaround, thank you for the quick and useful reply!

@gwen-dragon Why should I use your browser if I can't even use it for my work. Why should I have two Chromium browsers opened just because Vivaldi team won't fix the developer settings? I'll just keep using another Chromium based browser and that's all.
-
@gwen-dragon When no one uses devtools in Vivaldi, then there is simply no reason to fix issues.
-
Yeah I understand. I mean I want all the best for Vivaldi team but dev tools are a huge part of my life. Maybe I should use Chrome only when I need to use responsive mode but would be very cool if they fixed dev tools.
-
@gwen-dragon I appreciate your efforts and will surely check on wether these bugs got fixed or not.

If they are buggy like they are right now, you can be sure no actual dev will use them.
-
@gwen-dragon I don’t understand your quote and reply. I use devtools in Vivaldi all the time. I just don’t think it makes sense telling people to switch to another browser and forget about doing any work concerning web development in Vivaldi.
