Adding search engine
-
Hello,
I have just installed new vivaldi browser (using the beta version before) and it looks like it is impossible to add new search engines now?
Am i wrong?
Thanks -
You've never been able to add custom search engines on Android, this is an old feature request, which is in progress meaning they're actively working on it. But you can still vote for the OP to lend your support to the feature request.

Can t remember if i added it manually or if it was in the default list, but qwant (q) was in my search engines list. No more now.
That s the reason why I ask rhe forum to add search engines.
So why no more qwant? -
I never use qwant, so I can't speak to it, but if you want custom search engines, you should vote for the feature request. Though as it's already in progress, all you really need is patience.

Thanks for your help
I will vote as you suggest. Hope someone could give answer concerning qwant meanwhile. -
I'm not certain there's anything to say. I don't know that it's ever been a part of the Android browser.

I was able to set qwant as my defaulr on my Samsung Galaxy S10+. The installation there ist there for a while now.
Later, last year, I was not able to do the same on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6. Now it ist also not possible on a fresh Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra.
So it was there at some time and stayed on the oldest Installation or it has something to do with the device.
But I can confirm the option is there at least on one device. I am little dissapointed because Vivaldi announced a cooperation with qwant.
But if it is qwant or something else I want to use un the future: I voted for the custom search engine on android. -
