How to remove Speed Dial tab in Android Vivaldi

I've just got rid of Edge because I could not find a way to get rid of it's damned News Feed, thought I'd switch to Vivaldi, now I find I cannot get rid of that damned Speed Dial tab that persists in coming back like vermin. I want my Home Page to be the default page that shows when I open Vivaldi. I have set up my Home Page but I'm damned if I can get it to show. Very soon Vivaldi is going into the dumpster if I cannot get this resolved.

Hi, I cant live without speed dials but there is a setting in Settings > Startpage where you can set up an URL instead of the Vivaldi startpage.
Hm, just checking, if you open a new tab you are landing at Vivaldi startpage again.
On desktop startpage and new tab is a different setting missing in the Android version. You can make a feature request if you like.

@mib2berlin Thanks for that, it's exactly what I did do, set up a new Home Page going to "www.google.com.au/advanced_search". However, Vivaldi sees fit to completely ignore that and persists on opening the Speed Dial page instead. This is the sort of stuff that makes me want to wring developer's necks ! (even though I was a software developer in a prior life)
