And I can't install it, because installer claims I have newer version installed (probably it's confusing stable with snapshot)
-
Sometimes, when I get the Chromium prompt "Are you sure you want to leave this page?", and confirm exit, it CAN crash Vivaldi
Anyone has this problem?
EDIT: Using Windows 10 Pro x64 Ver 2004 - Vivaldi 3.1.1929.40 -
How to disable these messages?
-
@pesala: Isn't that the Google Phishing/Malware item in Privacy?
-
@rseiler That setting is disabled:
Google Phishing and Malware Protection -
@pesala: That's interesting. What about Safe Browsing here (you have to click More to see it)?
chrome://settings/privacy -
@Pesala very old problem in chromium, but not everyone sees that confirmation

once there was a hack (I made a python script to apply the hack) to mark the wanted extensions as safe, hence not popping up that message when downloading certain files with those black listed extensions, but it's not working anymore since a couple of major chromium releases.
One serious bug due to this warning popup is that if you cancel the download in vivaldi appears looping forever at 0 bytes and you have to forcefully stop it and remove it from the download panel. Very Annoying popup and bug never addressed (if even noticed) by Vivaldi devs, reported multiple times with no result. -
@gabevilela: should be fixed internally and in the next snapshot.
-
@pettern: How prevalent is this (he said "can")?
-
@Gwen-Dragon I tried both "Search for update" from browser's menu and an installer from your page. Neither work.
-
@Gwen-Dragon yes, in different folders, of course.
-
@iAN-CooG I reported it to the Bug Tracker. One could regard it as a feature request, but it is a bug IMO. When downloading an executable file I already clicked a button to save it when I could have cancelled if I wished to.
(VB-68974) FQ Disable Warning to Download Executable Files
-
@Gwen-Dragon That helped. Thanks!
-
@pesala: Are you saying that toggling off "Safe Browsing" also doesn't stop it for you?
-
@rseiler Where is that option? Did a Chrome update re-enable a flag or something?
