Vivaldi introduces a full-page Notes Manager and configurable menus to its browser for computers
-
@rluik: Sadly I don't see any option on this board to look at a users post history, because if there was you would be able to see that I'm around since (way before) the first Vivaldi release and have no history of "recreating discussions" other than reporting issues with the browser itself. You seem to look for an opportunity to label people who do not agree with your mindset. Do as you like. I've motivated my complaint and judging by your first and second reply, any further discussion is indeed senseless.
-
@escorpiom I'm just saying it happened before and will happen again. There's almost a full page of posts deleted before yours on the exact same subject (that I didn't participate). Nothing personal, it wasn't your fault or anything.

If you click on the username (or avatar) you are taken to their profile where posts can be seen.
e.g. I can see that you joined on 26 JUN 2016 and have made 43 posts (so far). -
@rluik To be clear, the deletion of posts had nothing to do with what they were discussing. They were deleted (and the user temporarily banned) for wall-to-wall obscenities and insults.

Rafael, Where are the page, the Url, just in case. Help us to declutter our fórum.
-
@rluik: In that case, I stand corrected. I did not see those removed comments, only the ones that were not deleted. Had I seen them, I probably would not have added mine.

@escorpiom @rluik @Catweazle Please keep your political views out of this thread, this is about Vivaldi 3.1 release, go somewhere else expressing your politcal opinions, thank you all.
You should ask it of Jon von Tetzchner!
-
@rluik: Racism or antiracism is not Vivladi's business. They should make technologies only and nothing more.
-
@bongyi I wonder, is this the same with WalMart, Target, Lowes, Microsoft, Apple, Nike, etc.? Is it impermissible for these companies to have a position with regard to human rights? Asking for a friend. I mean, Jon Stephenson VonTetzchner tweeted in favor of Black Lives Matter (as I recall). Was he not allowed to do this? Is his company not permitted an image congruent with his personal stance (despite his company having no political position)? And MLK himself - never a politician, never a supporter of any political cause, but a global icon on the subjects of human rights, poverty and pacifism. Is he a "political" figure? Is his image a "political position?" Is it "political" to support the rights of humans, an end to poverty and an absence of war? Inquiring minds want to know.

The UI bug introduced a few Snapshots ago has now flowed into Stable, ie, it now also runs with its entire UI 10% larger than before.
https://forum.vivaldi.net/post/371695
The clever workaround posted by @potmeklecbohdan which reverts Snapshot's UI back to "normal", now is also needed for Stable, for which it is equally successful.
https://forum.vivaldi.net/post/371854--force-device-scale-factor=1
So far i have only confirmed this new Stable UI problem in ArchLinux.

....Wouldn't it be easier to change that pic to something else that doesn't imply support for violence and looting?
Supporting violencia a picture and article of Martin Luther King in the Wikipedia?????
-
@Catweazle exactly, why don't these "easily offended by everything" people go to wikipedia and tell them to not have articles on people they don't like?
Now please mods, clean this thread from useless discussions (including my interventions, no problems) move them on chitchat or somewhere else, and focus on Vivaldi release. Geez. On another forum where I am moderator this would have led to insta ban of all involved after the 1st warning. Treat your forum well if you want to be treated well. -
@ayespy: Why propagates his private political opinion Jon Stephenson Von Tetzchner through the Vivaldi's blog? Maybe as a privat person his opinion does not get enough attention. So, he makes use of the popularity of Vivaldi. It is a very bad way.
-
-
@ian-coog: As you can see, political aspect has came in the blog by Jon Von Tetzchner Vivaldi's CEO.
//MODEDIT: I have slightly edited your post. Next time, please, be kind to others and observe the Code of Conduct.
Thank you!

@bongyi As we can all see, the political aspect came only from you. The news item on the Blog is about human rights. Did you send that PM yet to the Community Managers?
You have made your point, and no one has yet deleted your posts, so please stop disrupting this Vivaldi browser forum.
-
@bongyi I think, you're overexaggerating a little bit here. It's literally just a screenshot from the Wikipedia article and a quote from The Nobel Prize website, nothing more. Nobody is advocating for anything in the blog post, so why make such a fuss about it? You've made your point loud and clear, but I think any further discussion on the matter is not necessary.
-
@iAN-CooG I think that so far, the discussion has been at least civil enough to allow this little off-topic.* As @rluik has pointed out, since the picture is what it is, even if we "clean" this thread now, the discussion will likely return later. I'm in favor of leaving it as it is, although I don't have the last word here.
But regardless, I'd like to ask everyone to express their opinions in a more polite manner. We don't want any fights here, please.
* Obviously, I'm not talking about those posts that were deleted (for reasons that @Ayespy has already explained above).
-
@pesala: I think you will agree with me! If you really apreciate the human rights, then has to admit the freedom of speech. I did not do any bad, so please you don't threaten me. I am a Vilvadi user (yet) and not like the new version has came with a political opinion. I hope the Community Manager will answer in this Blog.
-
@bongyi , you had the freedom speech, but you cannot ask for freedom of speech by denying it to others, if they do not agree with you, also rightly.
