Horizontal mouse scrolling with second mouse wheel not working
-
Hello,
I'm using the Logitech Wireless Mouse MX Master 3 and I want to use the second wheel for horizontal scrolling.
Sometimes it works for just one scrolling step and then it stops working. Vertical scrolling is working every time in vivaldi.
I tried different settings in the Logitech Options app but I had no luck. The mouse is working fine with internet explorer.
It's a little bit confusing since it sometimes working fine, even in Vivaldi. In other cases then it works for just one scrolling step and then it breaks.
Any idea? Thanks!

@fpdragon Been having the same issue with MX Master and MX Master 3 for years, only on Windows. I do not have this issue on macOS. I'm doing some investigation and will post if I find a solution.

@fpdragon The best workaround I have been able to find is to rename vivaldi.exe to chrome.exe. Apparently, Logitech Options modifies the signal from the scroll wheel on a per-app basis to whatever type of signal the app is expecting, but Vivaldi is not on their list. I tested and it seems to work as expected now, however, I have no idea what other kinds of implications this could have, especially when it comes time to update Vivaldi to the next version.

I think I have fixed it within Logitech Options: Select the thumb wheel from the diagram. Change the assignment from 'Horizontal Scroll' to 'Keystroke Assignment'. In 'Turn Up' assign a keyboard right click and in 'Turn Down' assign a keyboard left click (or the other way round if you prefer). It works for me albeit not terribly smoothly but it works.
EDIT: I improved the scroll by increasing sensitivity to maximum.

I decided by running Logitech software as an administrator on Windows 10 and adding Vivaldi as a custom application.
Vivaldi's folder is inside% appdata%, I imagine that Logitech's software has problems accessing this folder without being an administrator.

It is simpler than that. Just run Vivaldi as an administrator.

For anyone reading this, I definitely don't recommend ever running your browser as an administrator. This is a huge security risk.

Any word from the devs on this?
Assigning left/right keystrokes moves the cell highlighting, rather than scrolling (maybe the best option in the meantime, but not ideal).
I tried renaming vivaldi.exe to chrome.exe, but links in Outlook messages/invites stopped opening as a result. And it may have crashed the mail feature.
