Can add Google account synchronization options?
Because my extended bookmarks and so on are all in the Google account, it would be a lot of trouble if I use a new vitaldi account.

Probably won't be done as Vivaldi is a un-googled chromium so syncing data from google is not possible.
But you still can import bookmarks from chrome.

@Yuan I don't think google would want to partner with vivaldi ( a competitor), and I don't think vivaldi wants to share data with google (due to different business practices).

@Yuan No. Vivaldi would have to include Chrome sync APIs (which are licensed) plus, that would give Chrome the ability to harvest data from Vivaldi users.

@Yuan , Vivaldi, apart from having to pay a license to include Google services, will not be able to maintain its privacy policy that differentiates it from others. At least I would never want to have a service from this company included in Vivaldi.
For some reason you have your data encrypted end2end on Vivaldi's own servers with the impossibility of being able to access them, even though they wanted to. They can't even recover your password if you lose it for this reason.

Still, I would like some means to synchronize contacts between my phone (running Android) and Vivaldi. Is there not some solution for contacts synchronization?

@felagund No, Vivaldi has no support to sync google accounts data.

And is there not some third party solution for contact sync not based on Google that Vivaldi could start ? What I do not understand is that Vivaldi works great (or good enough) with Google Calendar and with Gmail, what is so different about contact sharing?

I know this is a new feature and the developer resources are limited, but for contacts to be usable, I would eventually expect some form of device sharing solution. Or is it waiting for Mail on Android (if that ever happens, but Jon somewhere hinted it is somewhere in the roadmap).
