Screen up and Screen Down Buttons
-
Users should have a soft button that they can tap to move the screen up and down in a document, like the PgUp and PgDown keyboard keys in desktop and laptop systems. When reading a document, simply tapping a spot in the browser to go from screen to screen saves time and effort over having to slide your finger and to make sure that you didn't skip some text. For reasons unknown to me, browsers have not included this function as a standard.
One browser, Angel, does implement the function. Chinese in origin, Angel disappeared with no explanation that I have found. Except for crashing too often, I have no problems with it. Because I have not found another browser with the function, I have stayed with it despite the crashes. It works consistently on devices with Android 4, 6, 7, and 9.
The browser is worth looking at to see the screen up/down function of it. The browser is no longer in the Google Play store but you can easily find copies on various apk sites. Google "Angel 15.53z" for a selection, and run the app file.
With the browser, to use the screen up and down keys, you must add them to the program command bar. Settings, Preferences tab, Show Custom menu toggles the command bar on and off. The command bar has six positions. To add the up and down commands to it, press and hold one of the six buttons on it, and select page up and page down from the menu that opens.
Using the function does run into one problem. Some web sites put banners or ads at the top of a screen and cover text. With the down command, you can lose a covered up line of text.

Page up button would be a great addition. Actually, a page up button is the only reason I still use Samsung browser instead of Vivaldi.

Great idea! Please add floating configurable buttons like page up/down and others

Please implement this feature, it would greatly enhance mobile browsing. Continuos scrolling gets real tiresome in the long run.
