URL and bottom bar not auto hiding
-
Hi!
I am currently using the lastest version of the android browser, but on my note 10 plus, the top and bottom bars are not auto hiding.I have a old note 3 and it is working on there. All settings are the same. Any ideas?
Thanks!

Disable accessibility permissions in your device settings this should fix your issue. Don't know why but it seems to conflict with all the browsers and it was driving me crazy and only found out about it in r/chrome

@Manoj8001 I'm having the same issue. Where should I be looking? I can't find the setting that fits the case.

OK, I "fixed" it. It has to do with accessibility services that can interact with the UI. In my case this was the AutoInput service associated with Tasker. Disabling that service (under Accessibility > Installed Services) caused the UI to auto hide when scrolling.
The Samsung browser, which also uses Chromium, doesn't have this issue, which leaves me to believe it's on Vivaldi's end.

Or the issue is in Tasker, or there is an issue in both of them. Without further information, we have no reason to give any of the 3 possibilities more weight than the others.
I've mentioned this a few times in the past, and without experience in AppCompat testing it seems to be a common mistake, but simply noticing that another program or programs do not have the issue doesn't tell us where the issue lies.
Unless, you have other information not included that would lend weight to it being in Vivaldi, we can only say there is a 67% chance that there is an issue in Vivaldi. We can say the same thing about Tasker as well. Given that, I would report the issue to Tasker as well.

@Pleomin Not just vivaldi but its an issue with all chrome base browsers, here is fix for this to make it work with accessibility service. Uninstall the browser, Disable device accessibility permissions (you can enable them later on). Install the browser make sure the bar is auto hiding. Enable permissions. Next go to browser settings and go to accessibility and disable any options which are enabled other than force zoom. Now test out the auto hiding by scrolling up and down intensively a bunch of times. After doing this i made it work on Brave and Vivaldi.

I have the Simplified view for web pages enabled and text size modified from 100% and the UI elements autohide just fine for me.

Yes, this is right it works, you only need to disable it during setup if you are using accessibility service in your phone cause the browser detects accessibility and auto enables simplified tab view.
