One day. Two big Vivaldi browser releases
-
Since this update, the start page flashes like hell. It takes like a second to load the background image and the speed dial thumbnails every time I open a new tab. Until that it's only grayness.
Can anyone confirm this?
-
@Nekomajin Not for me, it's faster than ever, appears immediately without any flash.
-
Everything here is very stable both on desktop and Android versions. The latter is particularly much much better, and I love the tabs implementation along with widescreen mode. Very useful and stylish... Thanks a lot, people.
But I have a request for you, guys: Please, show some love for those desktop users who do not use address and/or status bar... I'd like to check the new clock feature, thinking on use mainly the alarm, but I can't find it neither in menus, nor in settings... A panel for it would be nice as well, not to mention the possibility to summon it by Quick Commands...
For now, I have to stick to activation/deactivation of status bar...
-
Thanks to the developers and every involved user. Working great here so far.
Stay safe, everyone. -
@CptGuapo , I don't use the status bar, with Shift + Mouse you can bring all the icons up with the others in the address bar, also the clock
-
I literally love you guys, you're the best. Keep up the great work!
-
@catweazle: As I said, meanwhile I already use a similar resource, a keyboard shortcut to toggle on/off the status bar, so that I can check the clock. But another ways to access it would be very handy, considering we are talking about Vivaldi, the browser with unique features to please all kinds of tastes...
Talking about shortcuts, a field to associate a keyboard shortcut to open/view the clock isn't available on keyboard settings...
-
@gabevilela: Yeah, same here with the exhibition... Weird...
As for notification and countdown, both are OK.
-
May I enquire what "Past Timers" is for? When I click on a past timer, it doesn't load the duration of the past timers into the hours and minutes boxes, so I'm not sure what good they're for.
-
@ruarí: You all manage to improve even further the already greatest browser. Thanks a lot for all your effort! Now it's "20% cooler" (beyond)
-
@CptGuapo The reason for moving the clock to the address bar is that you don't even need to use a shortcut. The clock is right in your face to check the current time/date.
-
@valiowk
It is just a simple way to reuse a countdown.Edit: It does not seem to be much use at all. There is no way to reuse it.
-
@Nekomajin I'm facing this longer than from this update. Funny is if that I choose solid color, it takes longer to draw everything. I have activated Accent color from active page and new tab is loaded in steps. First speed dials, and after second and little is changed color of tab bar and title New tab is written to Titlebar. Same if when I just switch from tab to existing new tab.
-
@stardepp You have big time shown in taskbar. What is so useful to have it now twice?
-
@enc0re My Windows Taskbar is on autohide at the bottom of the screen. My Vivaldi clock is at the top where my attention constantly goes to use the other buttons, bookmarks, or URL field.
-
@Catweazle @marek-gontarczyk: Exactly the same issue than me: I'm on Android 9 and MIUI 11.0.7 and I update from beta to stable. I check the settings, but it just doesn't work.
-
Congratulations on new release with new features. Now, when a major update is out, I hope devs will have some time to fix the most annoying bugs that were reported by many users months or even years ago, and they still exist in v3.
-
@gwen-dragon: It was intended as an example, I've used analog and digital pomodoro timers in the past.
-
@nicknu: There is no magic, it gets its time from the operating system. Please file bugs if time in Vivaldi is different from your system.
-
@cristianceo: This is something we would like to do one day.
