This was a beautiful eulogy Varsha, it moved me.

It's been a sad week for tech journalism. Anick Jesdanun from Associated Press also died: https://apnews.com/1f0aca8b73b80808d45725702784c265?

I had only very recently read a couple of Jack's articles for the first time. When I saw the title was "ask Jack" in the Guardian website, I was expecting some typical simplistic journalistic advice on the order of "have you tried turning it off and on again?" (yes, I worked on an IT helpdesk many years ago and yes, I (recently) watched "the IT Crowd"...).
I was surprised to find it was more of a discussion than simple instruction, and even ended with admitting he wasn't sure of the answer and invited others to suggest solutions in the comments (it was about how to go about retrieving and backing-up decades old data from obsolete media, IIRC).
Seems we have lost an unusual and honest kind of journalist...
