{Feature Request} Change Name
Hello Everybody, I hope you are all healthy
I'm new to Vivaldi's Webmail, and I see that the email's name is automatically derived from my chosen User name.
It would be amazing to be able to choose the name in the email address unrelated to the Username/Nickname.So I guess there could be somthing like this:
Community's username
Real Name
Email Name
Blog Subdomain NameIt will be much more usable for me
Thank you

ModEdit: Title
-
It would be highly desirable, since emailname = nickname makes the email addresses of all forum members public, an obvious source of spam and a security hole, which makes use of Vivaldi mail unusable for serious use.
-
oh right!
-
I have had a vivaldi.net account from the beginning, and so far I have not received very much spam at all. By contrast, my gmail account receives spam on a daily basis.
Not that being able to change the name is a bad idea; just saying that the spam filters must be pretty good at catching 99.99% of spam before it gets to me.
-
@Pesala , but it does not remove the underlying problem, spam is only one of the least important.

I've only received one spam e-mail since I've had my Vivaldi accounts. Can I say this for other e-mail accounts elsewhere, that I've had in the past? No.
Whatever VIvaldi is using, it is working.

Just so be sure, I'm personally requesting the possibility to choose the [email protected]
to be different from the community's user name, not because of spam, but as it will be much more useful to me and I could just use my business's name. -

I don't think that Vivaldi has a higher security level than the average, against spam: you don't receive any spam, just because vivaldi.net domain is almost unknown in mail servers and spammers just don't see any reason to send e-mails to e-mail account that are almost not sending any traffic online.
Vivaldi.net is, simply, irrelevant, for them.

it would be:
- amazing
- safer against spam
- giving some extra privacy (I don't want to receive DM from other users in the community, by default)
Yes, vivaldi.net e-mails should not be created with the usernames of the community.
-
I might even suggest a pure alias route - users own a subdomain of vivaldi. I create an email as I need one by placing something before @ksb.vivaldi.net and that way nobody knows what email addresses I've created. If I receive unwanted emails to one address, I disable it or delete it.
In terms of definitively having a different forum name than email; choosing a subdomain upon email registration OR choosing forum username would be ideal either way. -
Please allow also a custom blog subdomain.
If the email adress is [email protected] somebody doesn't want the blog reveal his full name like johndoe.vivaldi.net -
