Chromium update and status bar clock – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1843.5
-
@jumpsq I found it very useful.
With Vivaldi’s good reputation for privacy, File Sharing Like Opera Unite could be a popular feature.
-
@JamieCat I think Slack being broken is the same issue as the one that breaks Twitter and Twitch. After I disabled some extensions I no longer used to get Twitch working, I also noted that Slack started working properly. And this is in spite of the fact that I have Slack in a web panel, which don't support extensions.
The extensions I disabled were Honey, Google Docs Offline and Google Scholar button (I don't know which one caused the issue since I disabled all at the same time). None of these is related to content blocking (my ad blocker is still active).
-
Installing (without any scripts) Tampermonkey breaks the Tweeter.
-
-
@Gwen-Dragon I do use ublock and a few other extensions. Even in a private browsing window I still had the issue. I will have to try again starting up with extensions completely disabled to see if it still re-occurs
-
@Komposten I think you are right. I'm using ublock origin and a few other extensions like Dark Mode and lastpass.
I just tried another profile with only lastpass and Dark Mode. With only those two slack loads fine but keeps going blank and refreshing with Dark Mode enabled. But turning it off I am not seeing the issue.
So that is frustrating but not the worst. I can switch to a different plugin like dark reader or hacker vision if needed. Gives me something to go on to trace the issue for a debug report to the developers
-
Another sad day when I still have to endure this Popup Video icon.
Is it really too much to add some lines for "Disable" in the Settings? Is that a hard ask, or is my Windows clock in the bottom right not valid enough...Genuinely curious.
-
@Vividal A fix is being internally tested.
-
I found that this version conflicts with many plugins. Will cause the web page to not display properly. This problem may occur even for plugins that do not affect the page
-
@Gwen-Dragon I hope this problem can be solved as soon as possible, it has already started me to use edge
-
@gyc145 Why use Edge when you can just use the previous snapshot (until it's fixed)?
-
@npro: i really don't understand your point of view, i don't see the need of scorning everything that is not vivaldi related.
Simple example, same conditions: both have a pop up video button.
Objective facts:
- Opera was first browser to implement it -> vivaldi copied that feature
- Opera implementation is far better than vivaldi's.
Can you see this? I know i am boring and repeat myself, but i don't see the way to make you opine about features and not about company drama, when i am just talking about a button that makes browse easier.
I started to use Opera in 2000, so i know what i am talking about, opera has always been innovative and, as you well say, vivaldi is bringing back features from a browser from 10 years ago. In vivaldi i miss the innovation spirit of opera presto, i am sorry this bothers you SO MUCH.
PS. Have you tried selection pop up, with currency converter? it is won-der-ful.
-
@mtaki14 Using the previous version required uninstalling the current version, which made me lose a lot of content that could not be synced. This will cause me a lot of trouble. Before I could fix it, I could use two browsers at the same time to solve the problem I encountered.
-
@npro: btw, i do believe vivaldi android is innovative, they have new cool features every release.

I never understood why Unite was presented with great fanfare and then very quickly forgotten about again. (Thinking back, was this the moment that out-of-the-box thinking was killed and Opera changed course to become what it is now?) I admit that in the beginning I didn't see much use for it, but the one thing that I did do a few times was create a fileserver so friends and family could collect and share pictures from weddings etc.
Ironically, just a couple of days ago my dad shared a video with me using Firefox Send... So Vivaldi would not be unique in trying something like this.

Is the new clock alarm supposed to make noise or just pop up in the action center? Because all I get is a pop up. A sound would make sense for an alarm.
-
@Satori2869 Just a notification for now. But adding a sound is a known requested feature.
-
@AlesPG And we are all sorry you cannot stop expressing that (to my mind inaccurate) opinion over and over and over - as though it contributed something to the discussion. You are free to do so, and others are free to disagree. You cannot argue them out of their view. This is impossible on the internet. Why try?
-
@Satori2869 I reported it as:
(VB-64355) FQ: Alarm Sound Instead of Notification Dialog
-
@Pesala Yes! I just used the Pomodoro countdown (great feature - I'll finally stay focused on my work now
) and I thought I would hear something.
