How to disable pop-out video button
-
Hi, Is there an option/flag with which I can disable the video pop-out that appears in the videos? I don't have use for it as YouTube already supports feature naively and is basically distracting.
Thanks. -
Not as of this moment but the popup button is still a work in progress so expect improvents there.

wow and you dare to call this browser "highly customizzable"...
that icon is very annoying, it remains visible when I enlarge videos on streaming platforms different from youtube
-
@Itlas Yes, the browser is highly customisable out of the box. Even more can be done with modifications.
The PiP icon is new. Options and bug fixes will no doubt come later. The latest snapshot already improves it by hiding the icon until you move the mouse cursor over the video.
The icon hides as expected for me on YouTube and Vimeo. Which sites do not work for you?
-
@Pesala some italian streaming site, a small one.

Just thought I would say that it is very annoying for me as well. I find myself using an alternate browser when watching videos because this button is very distracting. The option for pop out is surely a nice one to have, however, would be nice to be able to disable it, considering customisation seems to be one of the key selling points of Vivaldi.

@geleisen
Hi, you can already in the latest snapshot.
You can install it as standalone nearby your existing installation or wait for next stable.Cheers, mib

Hopefully the new installation setup comes with this option disabled. This is the most annoying feature no body asked for implemented in Vivaldi. Forcing this on everyone was a very bad idea.

I don't want to bother with Snapshots again, and I am really starting considering switching to Chrome, as this PIP icon is so annoying, to have that piece of shit stay visible half of the time when full screened video on Youtube.
Also I am starting to doubt competency of Vivaldi developers as they can't even make feature work with biggest and most used site in the world. How is that possible?

@fuzz
Hm, I have disabled the PiP icon in settings and have no problems with full screen on Youtube or anywhere else.Cheers, mib

If you move the mouse cursor all the way down, the Pop-Out Video button will disappear. It's very simple
-
Guys, you are so smart in using web browser. I wish I was as smart as you and figure this out. Cheers and thanks for helping out

In Vivaldi Snapshot 2.12.1873.3 there is a checkbox to disable the Pop-in-Pop Video button. As this will surely be available in the stable version of Vivaldi soon.

Please make it disabled for new Vivaldi installations for new users, I also hate this option!
