How to restore bookmarks
-
Hello!
I have even bookmarks file wich has 21MB and bookmarks.bak of it as well.I really checked a lot of topics, but there is difference in my case:
-
I have often blue screen problem - but this was first time it affected Vivaldi
-
actually I didn't loose nothing else just BOOKMARKS - so still have History for example
-
and even in C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Vivaldi\User Data\Default I had bookmark file from today aprox. 3 hours earlier - so it has 21MB of my bookmars - BUT I couldn't see nothing (totally empty) in my panel
-
when I tried to sync - of course it sync that "nothing"
but I made a "backup" of the original somewhere else. So and it created the Bookmarks.bak - which also has 21MB.
-
PLEASE I have I think even original one and also .bak (up) one - but I can not find the way how to restore it.
but this is what I see:and I tried to import it the way it's written everywhere, but it didn't helped.
Is it somehow possible please??? Thanks, for any help!

AND another strange thing is, that I have even SAVED Sessions ! - I lost just bookmarks from browser somehow.

@Gwen-Dragon Thank you!
I did, I also closed all tabs (which where all the same - also didn't loose them during whole day), but it's still not working.I chose this folder in which I copied the 21MB file of bookmarks : C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Vivaldi\User Data\Default
Than I tried to use just some folder on Desktop into I put the file, but of course that is not working. Is there something else I could try?
I'm afraid to restart Vivaldi - to not loose totally everything. -
@Gwen-Dragon
but how I can rename such a file?
I checked the file it seems, it should not be broken, I don't know. I compared it with some new one - when I make a new bookmark, everything is working. Just the old file get overwriten and I have then the new one.
Should it work with just inserting it like Ctrl+V or it's "just a wish"?So shall I import it from any different file kinf of? But should be always only file there? Is't possible to import .bak file? (btw, I already changed the preference for opening the .bak file to Vivaldi and nothing changed).
this is how the bookmark file looks like:
