Add to Speed Dial button
-
@meowmixes98 well the first time I installed Vivaldi on my android device, I so much didn't like the homepage thst I decided to stick to Brave (was having brave as my secondary browser before with Firefox always being the default to this day). But nevertheless gave it a try loved the browser and decided to leave Brave. The next thing I knew is that I searched for to get rid of it was look for custom webpage in settings which sadly is absent from it.
I request you developers please give some thought into redesigning the homepage ðĨš. As much as it hurts me to admit it's really not eye candy enough to catch attention of new users. -
The desktop version has a pretty good homepage in my opinion. But the homepage for the mobile version is just plain and uninteresting. I spend most of my time going back to homepage and tapping the speed dials. Give me some eye candy there. It really turned off a friend and he didn't really care for me talking up the browser after I showed him the speed dials on my phone. He just didn't take me seriously after that. I still can't believe there isn't an easy Add to Speed Dial button. Opera has it but I don't like their privacy issues.

@meowmixes98 You know, I don't know if adding an "add to speed dial" button is the solution, but I think both bookmarks and speed dial buttons need a little tweaking.
When I add a url to "speed dial" via the 'bookmark page" menu item (under the "V" menu), first I have click "edit" on the little blue popup window that appears at the bottom. Then, if last url I added was a bookmark, I have to click on the "speed dial" tab. Then I have to scroll down to select the folder where the speed dial goes, then select the checkmark. Problem is, some times, Vivaldi does not let me "scroll". In such cases I have to add the speed dial anywhere, and then edit it later to select the right place where I want it.
On top of that, I have to click on the speed dial button again for it to show the screenshot. To make matters worse, some screenshots look really ugly. Vivaldi is a beautiful browser, it deserves beautiful speed dial buttons.
It would be nice if Vivaldi picked an image out of the page being booked marked... or something...
Also, when bookmarking YouTube pages or videos, it would be nice if Vivaldi picked up the video thumbnail instead of a screenshot...
Also, even if I manage to capture a good YouTube speed dial screenshot, I loose it the next time I play the video and get a black video thumbnail instead...
I feel bookmarks and speed dials need to be improve both on desktop and mobile. Still a great browser though.
Perhaps the solution is an "add image" option while editing the speed dial?

long pressing bookmark button to add directly to speed dial is an effective option
