add bulit in vpn for private tabs like opera, it will be come in handy .

Opera VPN is not a real VPN, it is just a proxy. All valid VPNs are paid, free ones are always limited in data volume and / or number of servers, in the worst case they traffic with user data. To have the same as Opera, just use a private search engine such as Startpage that has its own proxy incorporated or use one of the public proxies. If you want to use a VPN, there is no choice but to hire one of the available services.
-
Yeah, well these things ain't quite private. Opera feels like a swiss tool don't ya?
-
@Catweazle Funny that you say that since some Starpage servers we're hosted (or leased as demo line) by Opera back in the days.

As I said, using Startpage as a search engine, I have the same as Opera 'VPN'.
-
@Catweazle this is not the same, a lot of closed sites by provider - not showing on startpage, or not open in anonymous view, also this method too tricky for user. A lot of people needs simplyfy method to use in-built proxy. Only opera has proxy, But Opera is not Vivaldi. So, thumbs up for this feature
-
@pointofview , true, Vivaldi does not traffic with user data, as Opera does. Vivaldi does not have a proxy, but allows you to configure one in it's configuration (Network), where you can use any of the existing ones.
-
@Catweazle We talking about mobile vivaldi, that don't have proxy adding. Anyway, of course ppl can use 3-th party proxies with other apps, like orbot or smth. But, this is not the same
built-in self proxies - is bless and easy to use

Ok, in the mobile phone you cannot use (for the moment) extensions in Vivaldi, but it is also not very complicated to use a proxy or VPN (for specific uses, the free version of ProtonVPN is enough, one of the few valid and secure free VPNs without Logs)
-
@Catweazle this is dog nail, cmon. I don't want search proxy or open other apps for switch vpn for all apps, just for visit 1 page for 1 second. I want 1 button in browser;) Or ofc, if they will add extentions with proxy in the browser like browsec, this will be better than other apps, or searches for proxies. But, actualy i'll never seen extentions on mobile browser with built in proxies.
-
-
@Catweazle i'm talking about browser extension proxy, not the android settings proxy
-
As I said, Vivaldi Android does not have it at the moment, so it can only be used as a configuration or directly use a VPN (the one that carries Blokada itself can serve)
-
I thought this slogan "That's why we’re building a browser that is powerful, personal and flexible. A browser that adapts to you, not the other way around." - is not just empty words. This word in your legend policy about mobile vivaldi, and about browser that made by users for users. So this suggestion is about this.
-
UR browser Incorporates an optional VPN, as it is a paid VPN, provided by ExpressVPN.
This would be the maximum that Vivaldi can offer, so as not to lose the gratuity. Putting a fake VPN like Opera is certainly not an option. -
Actually, not need true encryped VPN, just make in-built proxies, and name it Vivaldi Proxy, or Vivaldi Open Web, doesn't matter.
-
I don't think Vivaldi needs to invest time and money into providing a VPN-service when there are many available. It is better to improve privacy and security on the browser level, by implementing DoH and ESNI for example.

@madiso A lot of people does not have simple access to sites without proxy's. And they don't know how to use 3-th party proxys\vpn. You can expand the user base because of this, since there is only one competitor in this - opera. Vpn - expensive, proxys - not. On desktop it's easy to do with extentions only for websites, 3th party apps makes vpn for all internet on the phone.
