Dev Tools Debugger {breakpoint freezes}
-
I love this browser, however, dev tools seems to be broken. If I enter a debugger statement in code, the page freezes and I cannot step through or continue to run the code. Basically all debugging functions/buttons (step, continue, etc.) are unresponsive. It would be super useful if that could be fixed. Thanks!

The reason I never used vivaldi in the past was because of being forced to use the undocked devtools. And now this bugs means I'm going to have to go back to chrome again... I'm not undocking I work on many pages at once.

I just found out that checking "Disable Paused state overlay" in Preferences also works. Of course you don't get the overlay, but at least Dev Tools remain responsive.
-
Please fix this bug, it's embarrassing for a power-user browser that the debugger freeze hasn't been fixed yet.
-
Could you clarify in what period this problem can be fixed? I have to use this functionality 80% of the time. It is very uncomfortable.

The workaround Disable Paused state overlay no longer is visible to me so it doesn't work anymore

Guys seriously. You have a bug that basically makes your entire browser unresponsive if anyone tries basic development tasks on it and the known workaround is buried somewhere in a bug report thread from 6 months ago, which is not exactly easy to find when you bump into this bug and you don't even know if it's a problem with Chromium, Vivaldi, or just your system, or what.
You obviously should asap make a temporary fix by e.g. setting that "Disable paused state overlay" to be always enabled by default, or having the dev tools not be docked.

I have the same problem I can't put a break point and debug correctly the apps, please fix that is so important for developer! Thanks!
-
How is it possible that even in Vivaldi 3.0 this is still broken? The workaround works yes but it does not mean it shouldn't be fixed.
