Post 2.7 - Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1649.4

That's a nice big list of changes and fixes
Thanks especially for fixing VB-55892; stupid curious me did this yesterday just to test it
By the way, I thought with C.77 that sites with EV certificates (like vivaldi.com) would now only show the green padlock, and not the full cert name? But I guess this is VIvaldi UI, not Chromium?
-
FYI, if any of you should run into a problem with some Flash sites breaking, it might be caused by a Chromium regression.
Disabling #out-of-blink-cors might fix it. -
@potmeklecbohdan Seems like a mistake, there isn't even an entry in the dropdown to disable it, can only be done from console.
-
@Pathduck The vivaldi UI is created using custom HTML, JS and CSS and is different from chrome's UI so would need additional updating to match.
You would see the new behaviour if you ran vivaldi with the "--app" argument from the command line.
-
@LonM Yeah, I guess I assumed this would change in C77. No matter, I'll just keep using CSS to remove it, and I've enabled the "ev-details-in-page-info" flag to show the cert subject in the popup.
-
Finally, it would be useful to fix this error with the use of special characters such as . etc. in the search bar. A small and annoying bug that only occurs in your browser so I ask you to fix it 5 times.

Guys, did anyone notice that the new build is actually 2.8.1649.4 ?
-
@temkem And what is wrong with that?
-
@potmeklecbohdan The news says that build 2.7
Build 2.8 actually -
@temkem said in Post 2.7 - Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1649.4:

hehe looks like we can't use the dark-UI command in the shortcut anymore, as it makes the title of inactive tabs also dark (as well as the window buttons & trash can)wrong assumption of cause. -

@potmeklecbohdan I apologize, but I am Russian and use a translator. Perhaps the translator does not translate correctly, but in the Russian-speaking community there is no clarification that in fact the transition to 2.8

Looks like build for Raspberry is broken
I cannot start browser after updating snapshot to latest version... -
@Gwen-Dragon
No suitable library for HTML5 proprietary media (MP4[H.264/AAC]) was found, therefore only open codecs will play. To add support for proprietary media, issue the following command and restart Vivaldi: curl https://launchpadlibrarian.net/435404265/chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-extra_76.0.3809.87-0ubuntu0.16.04.1_armhf.deb |\ tail -c+1079 | tar JxC ~ --wildcards \*libffmpeg.so --xform 's,.*/,.local/lib/vivaldi-snapshot/,' Naruszenie ochrony pamięci
[last one says "memory protection violation" - it's probably a translation of segmentation fault/AV]
"It's dead, that's what's wrong with it."
I hadn't had any problems with previous snapshots
-
@temkem You can always assume the first snapshot after a stable has a new minor build version, it's the start of the new branch.
Happened only once so far that it didn't change immediately, but got rectified on the next snapshot anyway. -
@iAN-CooG it’s easier to immediately write that a new version 2.8 has been released.
It’s not hard, and nobody will feel bad from it! I'm right? -
@temkem it's not YET a new version, it's just the start of the works to get to the new version.
-
@iAN-CooG Naturally, the new test assembly is meant, but with the new browser version 2.8
