Address bar fixes – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1581.5
-
@pesala: do you like BIG numbers? like 100500.1581.5?
this doesn't matter for me -
@nutcracker Have you checked if it's happening with a new user profile or a different OS user profile? Sounds like a sync problem to me, I had once that problem, no matter what I was trying (with the favicon- top sites- bookmark-, cookie-, journals- files, resetting sync, editing local state files, preferences etc) they kept dissapearing, then I disabled sync and I had no more problems. Sadly I can't remember the exact steps I have followed to help you, it's been a very long time since then, I may have created a new profile, exported the bookmarks to a .html beforehand and reimported, recreated all the thumbnails by reloading, and stuff like that you may want to experiment. But never have sync on when you do that, delete everything from sync beforehand and disable it and keep of course some backups in case something goes wrong.

@ruario: Sure, I'll submit a bug report with the bookmarks file later when I get home from work.
-
@raed I can not confirm on Linux.
-
@luetage: Hey, have you reported a bug on this? I've not been able to reproduce the issue

Well done, just realised nothing happens when I press Enter too
-
Amazon music seems to be working again in this build. I'm not sure if that's due to changes in Vivaldi, or if Amazon finally fixed the issue themselves. For a week or two it was showing a popup saying "this browser is no longer supported".
-
@saudiqbal: Appears to be caused by turning off auto-complete in the address bar, so should work if you turn that on again .

If I type an address in the address bar and press Enter nothing happens, is it just me or this is a bug?

Do you have {{Address Auto-Complete}} Off, haven't you?

Thanks, works for me. -
@Sojiro84 That's a known issue. The Devs are working on that one.
-
@raed My is always OFF and Address Field Drop-Down Menu as well. In case the issue is related to Address Bar, I turn both On.
-
@ian-coog: The DEL key is not working for me, only the X with the mouse works.
-
@lamarca Good point. I have
Address Auto-Complete
off and pressingEnter
does nothing. If I enable this setting, pressingEnter
works. -
@hlehyaric That's very annoying. Messes up our typing.
-
@rhk turn off numlock/caps lock
-
Thanks for fixing that!
-
For me, with this version, pressing enter in the address bar does nothing.
-
Yeah editing and URL in the address bar is really messed up now. It keeps replacing the bits I've deleted with parts from history. Only started in this latest snapshot. Hopefully it's fixed in the next build, as this is getting annoying.

Actually, 3 in 1:
- If I paste address into address bar, I want to go exactly to that address.
- If I delete autocompleted part, I want it to be deleted.
- If I delete it again and press Enter, I want to go to URL without deleted part.
