Nice use of Vivaldi as the browser-user -
Still no fix for Vivaldi intercepting media keys, preventing using Play/Pause on media players even when there's no media tab opened... It's been reported since months, yet nothing about it since at least v2.4.
And the hardware media key flag does not help. Chrome and Edge Chromium don't intercept them unless a media tab like YouTube is opened, why not Vivaldi ? -
@rdistel: Thanks for the report, its a known issue, we are working on it
-
@gwen-dragon: Thanks for the update.
I just noticed a regression : when typing in the address bar, previously typed addresses won't auto-complete until history is fetched.
This was fixed not long ago and made instantaneous (history was still delayed, but not previously typed address), but now I have to wait a few seconds before it auto-complete a previously typed address that is not in the bookmarks. -
I'm sure it'll be coming along by next week, but I'm surprised that Tuesday's .100 Chromium release wasn't incorporated into an RC4 before pushing the final.
-
@rseiler There are plenty of fixes that haven't been pushed into this stable release. We have just to wait next snapshots.
-
Thanks for the update but still the focus on Search Bar drop down is not fixed. https://forum.vivaldi.net/post/291785

On the abusive ads feature, does its presence now as a formalized feature mean that it hasn't been working since it was introduced in Chromium 71? It had been visible in places like chrome://settings/privacy, but maybe it wasn't operable because access to Google's blocklist wasn't there (just a guess because of the specific mention of a Vivaldi-hosted blocklist in this post)?
If it has been available since then, how does what we have today differ from that, aside from its presence in Vivaldi's native Settings and Vivaldi hosting the list?
-
One note : there's some string resources not fully translated (ex: I have Vivaldi in pt-pt and in some places are still in english. )
-
@Gwen-Dragon Thanks! Great to see this feature, it's much easier to apply custom css.
-
Still not Whatsapp Web fix?
Seriously?
-
@ledow Right-click on the web panel icon and then chose "show desktop version"
-
Still freezing on Ctrl+F : '(
Should I complain to Chrome project ? : (( -
When I turn on the ad blocker, the pages load slowly. I turned it off and continue to use AdGuard.
-
I know it's an experiment, but the loading of custom css does not work for me. Strange because it did work when tested in the snapshot stream
-
@sjudenim It works for me.
- I entered vivaldi://experiments in the address field
- I enabled CSS mods
- I restarted and chose the folder in Settings, Appearance, Custom UI Modifications (I chose the same folder that I use for the Snapshot)
- My modifications are enabled in 2.6 Stable

@finway said in Vivaldi browser blocks abusive ads, improves profile management and more:

Should I complain to Chrome project ? : ((How long has that been happening for you? I recall a freeze (more often a crash for some) several versions back. I wasn't aware that it was hanging on for anyone to this day, at least on Windows.
-
Thanks for the nice new features, but why do you keep replacing the profile icon sets? This is at least the third set you've had. It's annoying to lose the icon I previously preferred.
-
Thanks for checking.
I did all that. I also changed the location and used my normal one which is with
browser.html
. Still nothing -
@pesala: It doesn't work, it keeps showing the mobile version. The same thing for Facebook Messenger. Check it out: https://www.subeimagenes.com/img/captura-de-pantalla-17-2038713.png
