Profile management, Abusive Ad Blocking, WhatsApp – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1546.4

@derDay I just downloaded a binary after enabling Open Download panel automatically, and it just does open as expected during download. It doesn't open if you use right click/save image as.
-
When i open up the clear history dialog a 1px wide border appears on the right hand side of the Vivaldi browser. Seems to be a little glitch. I noticed this on Windows 10 and Windows 7.

alt + p
Do you have the extension "Picture-in-Picture Extension (by Google)" ? That uses Alt+P as default extension activation shortcut. You have to change it yourself in Extension Keyboard shortcuts (Open the upper left menu then select Keyboard shortcuts), locate the extension and set some other shortcut you don't use anywhere in Vivaldi.

@ian-coog: thank you very much.

How do I change avatar now? I cannot see an option for this. Also I see my Vivaldi avatar as a button, but when I try to manage profile I can see a default avatar.

I cannot see a button to change the name or avatar though

@jacekn In a vivaldi.net profile, you can only change by visiting
chrome://settings/manageProfile
In a local profil, you can click the ">" button next to the profile name inthe drop-down menu.

Sweet work on this snapshot. I like the Profile icons. I've been lazy in my internet savvy of late so didn't use your spoofing advice. I do now and I'm happy with the results. Thank you for making it plain. Hugs and kisses to the development team; your work does lead the internet browser pack by far.

@lonm: "Also, I assume the image that is there right now (in manage a vivaldi.net profile) is just a placeholder? In any case there's no way to change it to one of the others as chrome://settings/manageProfile only shows 15 of the 30+ custom icons."
Or, how about adding an option to have "no icon," please? I finally got used to having a nondescript gray icon, now there's vivid color up there & it distracts me...

Vivaldi is now officially my main browser. I've been a long time Opera user and have both Opera/Vivaldi together installed on my PC since Vivaldi started. Now Opera is uninstalled, Vivaldi remain
-
@archive1: The only thing that reasons I kept Opera around was because of the free VPN. Now I have found alternatives. Now there was no need for it anymore
-
@lonm: Can confirm. I have the address bar disabled by default and extension shortcuts do not work
-
@ian-coog: how do you do this?
-
@Kocho In Extensions page (Ctrl-shift-E) upper left there is a 3 lines menu button, select keyboard shortcuts. Then change the shortcuts to the extensions you want, I set a different key to the Picture-In-Picture extension because it defaulted to Alt-P which interferes with Vivaldi settings default, and also added one to uBlock Origin to activate the element picker
-
How about adding password protection to profiles?
-
Is there a way to hide the profile button?
-
@wpcoe if you go into settings > address bar, there is an option to hide the profile icon completely.
-
@g_bartsch: why is my profile icon a picture of a black guy? I prefer generic icons, not race oriented icons
-
@mozpri: Yes, there is: vivaldi://settings/addressbar/
-
@lonm: Thanks! Just want I wanted. Got back that little piece of address bar real estate.
