Address bar performance improvements – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1525.4
-
No Web WhatsApp here, complains about needing Chrome 36+ used to work fine with no work arounds, using Fedora 30 Linux
-
I reported page crashing VB-52446 which happened with this build and the one before.
-
@AltCode I filed a bug for this (VB-52231) and an option to enable/disable the Quit Confirmation has been added to Vivaldi's settings. You should see this in the next Snapshot build.
-
@AltCode Try assigning ⌘+Q to another command such as Clear Browser Data. I think the issue only affects Mac OS? At least, I could not get Ctrl+Q to quit.
Specs: AMD A10-6800K, 8 Gb on Win 10 64-bit 1809 build 17763.437 • Snapshot 2.5.1525.4 (64-bit)

@Para-Noid Vivaldi came up with a way to (hopefully, unobtrusively) update the default Speed Dials to reflect business relationships that come and go. If you deleted them and they came back, that (as far as I know) was not intentional. (Could they have been updated from another Vivaldi installation through Sync?)
I like to support Vivaldi (and use their bookmarks) but also have my own bookmark tree, and my own Speed Dial page. My solution was to move Vivaldi's default bookmark tree into a "Vivaldi Bookmarks" folder. That gets them out of the way, and they also still continue to get updated.

@ian-coog: Is this new?!
-
@ian-coog: and why wouldn't it be mentioned in the changelog! That's another thing I've been wondering about. Why not all changes are listed on each build's page.
-
OMG!!! Thank you so much for the dragging and dropping speed dials option!!!! I love you so much!!!!
-
@Vividal Please take note of V's community rule #7. No ALL CAPS please. Thank you!
-
@Vividal Because the feature didn't come out this snapshot – I think it was introduced with the other speed dial improvements.
-
@kahukura All better, now.
-
@Vividal Palm, meet Face.
-
@kahukura: I appreciate it!
-
@ayespy: Thanks and sorry!
-
@steffie: Not my fault some goodies are never mentioned!
-
@luetage: Hmm, idk. I read the changelogs and while it could be that i overlooked it, I've seen numerous people in the past mention why some things don't get mentioned.
-
@Vividal No problem.

Deleted
-
@Pesala You are correct, this only affects Mac users, as it is a feature that was introduced to prevent users from accidentally quitting the app in macOS. Also,
ALT+F4
should be Window's equivalent of⌘+Q
. -
@Vividal it was introduced in the previous snapshot
https://vivaldi.com/blog/snapshots/adjust-the-speed-dial-size-vivaldi-browser-snapshot-1511-4/
but you're right, it wasn't mentioned explicitly in the new features, but me and other commented about it in the comments the same day, you must have missed them
