Netflix broken in Vivaldi
-
I am running Vivaldi 2.3.1440.48 (Stable channel) (64-bit) on Windows 10 Version 1803 Build 17134.590. Any attempt to play videos in my Netflix account results in the Netflix Error Code M7361-1253 (as attached). Yesterday, I reinstalled Chrome Version 72.0.3626.109 (Official Build) (64-bit), and Netflix runs fine in Chrome. Does this mean I have to abandon Vivaldi and return to Chrome ??

if you search the forum, you'll see that it's a bug, has never been fixed.

@sahands Right! Looked at those posts. Well, it's back to Chrome for me then, Vivaldi's into the garbage can !

@sjdpix
Netflix is working fine here on Windows 10 Pro 64 1809, Vivaldi 2.4.1455.4 and 2.3 Stable, no bug.
I guess you miss video codecs or work with Windows 10 M.Cheers, mib

I'm hoping this gets fixed because I believe Vivaldi could be the best browser out there.

Hello, I have been pulling my hair out about this for a while , trying to "Check for updates" the widevine component from Vivaldi:components, but it did not do anything. But I have managed to get netflix working. Firstly I deleted the C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Vivaldi\User Data\WidevineCdm folder then copied the C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\WidevineCdm folder in its place. When I tried Netflix again it said I do not have DRM, when I checked vivaldi:components the widevine version was 0.0.0.0, when I pressed "Check fro updates" and the version changed to Version: 4.10.1196.0 now Netflix works
Hope this helps someone else.

I have this same issue, and the posted solution did not fix the error.

@markwillson Thank you my friend, for anyone need help on mac, you can go to
vivaldi://about
to find yourProfile Path
, something like,/Users/username/Library/Application Support/Vivaldi/Default
WidevineCdm
is at the same directory with theDefault
. You can just delete theWidevineCdm
folder and refresh the component webpage and click check for updates -
@sahands It's March 2022 and it appears Netflix issues have not been fixed still. While I can play back on my Windows 10 desktop PC, the fonts and nav icons are super (super!) small, and the menu top left is half hidden.
I've not read any post by the Vivaldi developers explaining what's goign on after issues have been outstanding since 2015 (was the 1st post I saw re Netflix issues).

This thread is about Netflix DRM and issues playing videos. Should work.

We have no bug report on such issue.
Please check Troubleshooting issues.
If that does not fix your issue, please report bug to Vivaldi tracker -
