I would like to have a pin button on top of each web panel to temporarily toggle the "floating web panels" setting instead of having to go into the settings. This way it would be easily possible to toggle the floating status on the fly when we need it.

Unless I misunderstood your request, to switch between «floating mode» and «non floating mode», you can assign a shortcut (Settings/Keyboard/View/Toggle floating panel) or alt+click the panel button in status bar.

@hlehyaric I didn't see that, but it would still be good to have that button because most of the time we open them by clicking on them. So it would be easy to open it and pin it if needed.
But as I love shortcuts, I'll definitely create one for that, thanks for letting me know

@mmassaer You're welcome. In the meantime, the shortcut is a workaround.

Sorry for reviving an old topic, but this would be really useful. Maybe another option would be a button to toggle the "Auto-Close Inactive Panel" option, instead of floating and non-floating. The only downside to this is that it wil overlap part of the page, so I can see why the floating/non-floating mode would perhaps be better.

Usually when opening a panel, I just need to quickly read something and prefer it closing when clicking outside of it. But sometimes I would prefer the panel to stay open until I manually close it. A "pin" button would make this a lot easier and quicker.
