Quick Command Parameters – v1v4ld1 br0w53r 5n4p5h07 1337.17
-
@folgore101 The French terms are not translated.
Page Zoom 150 works just fine.
This is going to create a lot of work to translate and support!
-
@pesala I have modified my previous message by adding some information on how to find them easily.
-
@pesala I think, there is really no need to translate commands, even LibreOffice translated them all. The problem is really, when you change between languages.

@burbuja said in Quick Command Parameters – v1v4ld1 br0w53r 5n4p5h07 1337.17:
@folgore101 Funktioniert! It works! The command ist not in the list. How did you find it out?
On the site where we do the translations.

I entirely missed realising that V-SS has had Mouse Gestures for UI Zoom actions [for which i'd been hoping for yonks] since snapshot 1328.4: "[New] UI Zoom from Quick Commands (VB-43080)", coz mostly Quick Commands are of no interest to me, seeing as i'm more a mouse maestro than keyboard kween. For today's new SS i was actually going to post about this ongoing omission, but felt i should recheck the available MGs as a precaution first. Thank goodness i did, otherwise Egg On Face awaited me. I had not previously realised [or maybe i forgot] there is a nexus between MGs & KSs.
I now recall people posting grumbles about the huge [25%] UI Zoom increments assigned to these keyboard shortcuts [but i paid no attention given my aforesaid disinterest in keyboard shortcuts]. However now that i've found the UIZ MGs, i fully share those grumbles... pls Devs can those increments be reduced, ideally to 5%, otherwise no larger than 10%?
I've a question about the KS/MG called simply "UI Zoom". The UIZ In / Out ones work for me [albeit far too coarse], but this one does nothing at all. What is supposed to happen?
-
@folgore101 Link please? Is the site public?
-
@steffie: Good spot on the "Zoom" and "UI Zoom" actions in shortcuts and mouse gesture actions. They seem obsolete there as they require additional value which can only be provided in QC now. I have reported VB-45152 for it.

[Regression][Mac] Title bar expanding (VB-44684)
The title bar still expands on fullscreen, but I guess but mine (VB-44704) is a separate issue?
Is it a new issue due to Mojave?
-
@ryofurue At the moment, I don't think that they can get rid of the blank title bar that drops down below the macOS menu bar in fullscreen mode. The fix mentioned above was to correct a problem where the UI either dropped down momentarily or dropped down and stayed down when switching to the fullscreen Vivaldi space.
-
@burbuja It is not public, only Translators can access.
-
@pesala: The translations are already done - only a|the proper UI is missing. I've heard some noises that there is something planned.

Here's a rather raw idea for Quick Commands: Incorporate NLP and ML methods to better understand the user's query and run it.
For example use a keyword like 'v' for Vivaldi's own commands (like how we use 'b' to search using Bing or 'g' to search using 'Google'). Now whenever a user first types 'v' and then types something like 'Page zoom 150' you already know what to do BUT what if the user types that incorrectly like 'pagee zomm 150' ? You could use some fast NLP & ML methods to understand his query nonetheless and run it. Voila! Vivaldi is now the first browser to incorporate smart user query understanding!
I'd hurry if I were you since Google & Microsoft are bound to start using these techniques in their own browsers and you should not fall behind.

I noticed inconsistencies between the Quick Commands list of commands and those in Settings, keyboard. They are the same as far as Keyboard Cheat Sheet, then they diverge.

I think it would be better to list all them in alphabetical order, or maybe display only those without any keyboard assignment?

Hi !
Any updates about VB-44336 please ? Quite annoying to have Vivaldi focusing every time when opening a link in background
Thanks
-
@nutcracker: Report a bug and attach the crash logs please You can report it here: https://vivaldi.com/bugreport/
-
That's nice... Seems like someone is deleting comments.
Mod Edit: The off-topic comments move moved to here, not deleted.
-
@ryofurue I just want to make sure that I did not misunderstand you... are you saying that the Vivaldi UI is still "dropping down" in but the macOS menu bar is not? If so, is there anything distinct about your setup? Multi-monitor? Desktop/window management tools such as Moom or Magnet?
-
Nice features, thx...
But please bring back the ability to zoom inside the web panels. -
[Media] Enable support for AV1 (VB-44942)
Out of curiosity: Why you guys have to "add" support for AV1 to Vivaldi? Isn't that a part of Chrominium already?
-
@serpher It is.
But Vivaldi - and most chromiums - have some differences in handling codecs/video formats as some of them will work only on chrome. Or they need a bit of fixing to working correctly (on win, mac and linux).
AV1 is open, so it was shipped soon and could be useful as alternative to a proprietary and not working codec on V.
