Flag Watch for Chrome 69 update:
Heres a change to the flags for anyone who likes to live dangerously and play with them. Remember to check with them disabled before reporting any bugs. Some may be chrome only.
New Stuff:
#overlay-strategies, #enable-webrtc-remote-event-log, #enable-webassembly-threads, #enable-v8-orinoco, #close-buttons-inactive-tabs, #new-tab-button-position, #single-tab-mode, #enable-oop-rasterization, #translate, #enable-heavy-page-capping, #enable-cloud-printer-handler, #enable-web-authentication-ctap2-support, #autofill-prefilled-fields, #autofill-rationalize-repeated-server-predictions, #enable-layout-ng, #enable-sync-user-consent-separate-type, #ntp-custom-links, #enable-websocket-auth-connection-reuse, #enable-accessibility-object-model, #enable-autoplay-ignore-web-audio, #upcoming-ui-features, #enable-blink-heap-incremental-marking, #enable-css-fragment-identifiers, #enable-ephemeral-flash-permission, #infinite-session-restore, #page-almost-idle, #proactive-tab-freeze-and-discard, #site-characteristics-database, #gamepad-polling-rate, #allow-sxg-certs-without-extension, #enable-bloated-renderer-detectionChanged:
#enable-password-generation > #automatic-password-generation, #ignore-previews-blacklist > #ignore-previews-blocklist, A bunch of google pay flags, chrome omnibox stuff, #BundledConnectionHelpRemoved:
#enable-manual-password-generation, #enable-md-extensions, #important-sites-in-cbd, #enable-renderer-side-resource-scheduler, #memory-ablation, #enable-d3d-vsync, #enable-manual-fallbacks-filling, #enable-wheel-scroll-latchingA lot of experimental engine specific changes. Also, looks like you'll no longer be able to disable the material design extensions page. Chrome (not vivaldi) is adding built-in translation of some kind. More attempts to deprecate flash. Some attempts to move towards a session restore similar to vivaldi's use of hibernation.

@lonm: Seems I spoke too soon. There seems to be some difficulty in getting Open in new tab (Over a link) gestures to work
-
@zaibon: my theory is to try ending the farce^Wnecessity of faked UserAgent version for some sites, and chromium 69 contains enough drastic changes to justify a major release step.
-
Wow! Running for about an hour.
- Speed is much faster.
- Moving between tabs is super smooth.
- Scrolling with mouse wheel is so much better than before.
- For some strange reason when updating via the GUI I had to completely reset my install.
- When prompted during the install the snapshot did not import bookmarks from the stable install even though it was offered.
-
Won't get to test this out until I get home. Has this snapshot fixed the crash on tab closing bug?
-
@dragonmastr I don't see it listed, and already saw a couple of crashes.

Chrome (not vivaldi) is adding built-in translation of some kind.What do you mean, something beyond the built-in translation it's had possibly since the beginning?
I wish Vivaldi could tap into that translation somehow, since it's great to have, but I guess it's a Chrome thing and not a Chromium thing. Yes, there are extensions and bookmarklets, but....
-
@pesala: bummer
-
You guys are the best.
-
@gigzama: And gals!
-
@dragonmastr There's still an open bug (VB-43095) where closing a tab can trigger crash. I've run into it myself on occasion but haven't found a way to reproduce it with any consistency. If you've found a way to trigger any crash reliably, please file a bug report. Thanks!
-
Facebook Videos won't play. YouTube is ok. I am on Mac OS.
-
@gwen-dragon: Ahhh ok, thank you.
-
@thot That's listed as a known issue for this Snapshot build and fixes are in the works.
-
@rseiler According to the flag: Enable the Translate popup when visiting webpages in other languages. I guess it's a way to entice more users to use Google Translate by showing a banner prompting them to do so.
-
@gwen-dragon: Got it, was my fault. Habs übersehen (I missed it). :-o
-
@a3ano: Dito

Love the new welcome page, well done!
-
Mouse Gestures Sensitivity Slider is stuck on 5 pixels. Mouse gestures don't work every time.
-
It requires 10.10.or later, and it doesn’t work on macOS 10.9.5.
