Checkerboard behind transparent image in url?
-
When I view an image directly in the url, it is shown on a black background and can make certain images with black text on transparent, next to invisible.
Mod Edit: Uploaded cropped portion of image.
So I would suggest showing the image with a white and light grey checkerboard, with an onscreen option to "inverse" the checkerboard to black and dark grey (or maybe even just left click on the image to switch it??).

@i00 I definitely think that a chequer-board pattern is best for transparent images. Your image looks fine against the forum page background, but not when opened in a new tab.
Switching colours might work to show black on white, but then white areas would disappear.
Opera 55 is the same as Vivaldi, so this may be an issue that is best fixed in the Chromium code.
My preferred solution would be "Open in IrfanView" (or some other image editor) on the image context menu.

@i00 I have moved your thread from the Vivaldi browser for Windows category to the Feature Request forum since you're basically asking for a new setting.
In the meantime, I'll show you my workaround. This is how it looks like:
I'm using the Viewhance extension (also available in the Chrome Web Store).
My custom CSS in the extension looks like this:body { background: #aaa; overflow: hidden; } #media { background-color: #ffffff; background-size: 20px 20px; background-image: linear-gradient(to right, rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.3) 50%, transparent 50%, transparent), linear-gradient(to right, transparent 0%, transparent 50%, rgba(0, 0, 0, 0) 50%), linear-gradient(to bottom, rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.3) 50%, transparent 50%, transparent), linear-gradient(to bottom, transparent 0%, transparent 50%, rgba(0, 0, 0, 0) 50%), linear-gradient(to bottom, #ffffff 50%, transparent 50%, transparent), linear-gradient(to right, transparent 0%, transparent 50%, rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.5) 50%), none; box-shadow: 0 0 5px #777; }

Already requested as VB-21785
That should not keep you from upvoting this topic, maybe this way the feature request gets a bit more traction.

I think that subtle colors animation at checkerboard would be nice.

As my request was moved to archive i want to duplicate here but it's a bit different, i think
