Vivaldi is very slow on my Windows 10 machine. What can be done to make it? fast?

That depends on what you have done to Vivaldi since you installed it - The Grammarly extension was added, But that can't be causing this much slowness because Chrome is also added the same extension.

Hm. so you're using Vivaldi on a 4-year old machine with a 1.7 GHz dual core that ships with 4GB of RAM, and at the moment I am using it on a 10-year-old 1.66 GHz dual core that shipped with 1GB of RAM, that I have upgraded to 3GB of RAM. You have a slow HDD (5400 RPM) and I have a SSD.

Vivaldi is not slow here. Grammarly probably should not really impact your speeds, but how an extension reacts with Vivaldi has little or nothing to do with how it reacts on Chrome.

One thing that does occur to me is that you might be running 3rd party security software. Some of these examine every single operation that Vivaldi tries to execute before permitting it, which really slows Vivaldi down.

at the thread https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/19999/vivaldi-is-too-slow/4 says what was done to speedup Vivaldi and what worked, I did an installation over my current installation and now things are much better, but I can't say it's 100%. No 3rd party security software is running, only Windows Defender. By the sentence, Some of these examine every single operation that Vivaldi tries to execute before permitting it, which really slows Vivaldi down. are you saying that some third-party security software is examining every single operation only of Vivaldi?

@varuna Correct. They consider it a "suspicious" application because it has not been white-listed like other browsers at their home offices, and it contains javascript.
