What are the email server settings?
-
I am trying to configure a desktop email client (Mailbird) and getting nowhere. It used to work just fine and stopped a few weeks ago.

Does anyone know how to configure imap email on Nokia Asha 503?
I try settings from this link
https://help.vivaldi.com/article/vivaldi-net-and-its-webmail/#setup
but without success.
I had vivaldi email account before, on Nokia Asha 503 and it worked, but now I can't configure. Is it possible that I can't configure email account because I need to remove some certificates from phone first?

These are Nokia Asha 503 settings and process when try to connect:
Incoming email server:
Host name: imap.vivaldi.net
username: [email protected]
Password: ********
Secure connection type: TLS
Port: 993
Authentication: Sign inOutgoing email server:
Host name: smtp.vivaldi.net
username: [email protected]
Password: ********
Secure connection type: TLS
Port: 587
Authentication: Sign inAfter managing setting I go to: "Sign in" button
Message appears: "Verifying email settings"
After a 30 - 40 seconds message appears: "Can't validate the certificate. Do you want to connect anyway?"
Then I press: "Yes" button
Then again is "Verifying email settings" message shown on display
And then, after a while, there is message: "Something went wrong. Please try again."
Thank you for certificates links, I will see if there is a way to update or to add certificates to Asha 503.

@nobeja any positive progress? Like @Gwen-Dragon mentioned the phone lacks the needed root certificates?
-
I copy certificates from PC to phone, but I couldn't install and in section where other certificates are placed there is only option for deleting certificates. I try to open certificate file but phone display message "File is not supported".
I also try to install directly from site to phone, but without success. -
@nobeja sorry for all the troubles, it's really tough for us to support all the platforms but I'm still looking for solutions.
Are you able to check your emails from the browser at least? Thanks @Gwen-Dragon for looking for some solutions on the web as well.
-
@Gwen-Dragon I try to find some solutions for installing certificates on Answers Microsoft site, but I couldn't find any that would solve problem. I will see on Microsoft forum if there is some topic about it.
@gaelle I can check email from browser without any problem, but email app on Asha 503 seem to have some trouble with connecting to server.
@Gwen-Dragon I try to update OS, but phone couldn't find any update available, so its probably end of support for Asha phone.
The thing is that last year, i believe, email app worked and after I delete vivaldi email account and try to set up account again, I couldn't.
In any case thank you for your assistance, if I find solution for email app I will post it.

@nobeja thanks a mil for the follow up. Let us know indeed in case you find an app that works on your nokia.
In the meantime I'm tagging this thread as resolved since your original question about the settings for a mail client was answered. -
