Chromium 67 update – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1.16.1221.3

@koolio said in Chromium 67 update – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1.16.1221.3:
the very long standing issue of [mmb] quick scrolling causing Vivaldi to select page content while holding down [mmb] to scroll
Please develop the habit of always mentioning the OS for vital context when making this kind of blanket statement. It has never been true universally, eg, for me in Linux.

Another bug that I don't remember seeing before:
(VB-41451) Mouse Gestures and Find in Page Work only on Bottom Tile
- Tile two pages vertically
- Follow a link in each tile
- Use the Back button or Mouse GestureLeft or use the Find in Page (Ctrl F shortcut)
What did you expect to happen
Action to be performed in the focused tileWhat had actually happened
Action always performed in the bottom tileAnother bug related to this
(VB-41453) Tab Tile Position Not Changed on Reordering Tabs
- Tile two pages vertically
- Drag the second tab in front of the first tab
What did you expect to happen
Bottom tile to move to the topWhat had actually happened
The bottom tile did not move. -
@gwen-dragon said in Chromium 67 update – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1.16.1221.3:
Mouse gestures with Alt deferred until activating tiled tabs
I am not sure what that has to do with the issue that I reported in 41451. When the top tab is active, the mouse gestures and keyboard shortcut for Find in Page affect the inactive tile (bottom, or right). PageUp/Down and cursor keys work as expected in the Top Tile or Left Tile.

@steffie: I would if I was using any other OS that had no where near close to even having 20% desktop market share.. would assume any bug reports where OS is not mentioned would be Windows. And its great that it never effected you on Linux. Why it was left unfixed on windows for almost a year was not good. Not to mention seeing vivaldi staff on reddit even suggesting to users reporting the issue multiple throughout the months to use other odd workflows for scrolling when they like me also preferred quick scrolling with [mmb] drag scroll/release without it selecting page content... as if they had no intention of fixing the issue that has never been an issue in any other 'windows' browser. Anyway doesn't matter now that it is fixed, hope it stays that way now

Both confirmed with Vivaldi x64, 1.16.1221.3 on Windows 10 64bit
-
Went back to 1.16.1211.3 due to two bugs(?) (on Ubuntu 18.04 64bit):
- Tabs are crashing (showing the bird), mostly when searching with Google
- Double appearance of the three dots of the extension hiding button, one on the right and one hovering over the addressbar
Plus on Windows 10 64bit:
- Vivaldi crashes every time I open a pdf in it
- Vivaldi closes all its windows when I close the private window (this one is older than the lasz snapshot)
Can anyone confirm or knows a workaround?

I've found a non-reproducible focus related bug, but here are two scenarios to explain the problem:
- Sometimes spatial navigation will activate in a web panel, and pressing a WASD key in a focused page with a text box will type WASD into the box, but also do the spatial nav in the panel.
- Typing into the inspector when it is docked, if the key you press is a single key shortcut, it activates. E.g. 1/2 (to switch tabs) will type into the inspector, but will also switch tabs.
-
@steffelchen I don't get a crash on opening PDF files, but you could disable the PDF plugin and open them in your default PDF viewer to work around the issue.
Start a new thread to report the bug, and provide some links to PDF files that cause a crash for you.

Alright. I have no idea why this happens, but everything I touch opens Crunchyroll in a new tab. At first, it was just the media keys (volume, mute, but weirdly enough, not play) and the calculator key that produced this bug, when pressed with Vivaldi focused.
Now, things have escalated out of control. I have a side panel open with jisho.org, which I use for work. Whenever I try to type anything, ANYTHING AT ALL on that side panel, each key pressed opens up a new tab and starts loading crunchyroll!
I have no idea why this happens, nor why it opens crunchyroll in specific. I had already reported this bug before, but it got worse now. For now, deleting Crunchyroll from my speed dial and adding it again seems to have solved the issue, but I'm certain it's gonna back if the bug isn't dealt with. If not crunchyroll, it could end up opening anything set to its position (3rd) instead.
This is a very annoying bug that is driving me insane!

@yamiryuuzero I fear it's a problem local to you. Something to do with your unique combination of settings and extensions, or even an infection. Tell me - do you have sync enabled?

While bookmarking is still much slower than I would like, it has sped up dramatically in this snapshot. Thank you.

Hi guys!
I opened a page where there was a twitter video: https://tinyurl.com/yb3yfuf8
I accepted the cookie handling...
And I get this message. The video can not be played in this browser. Try another browser!
???
On this site: www.youtube.com/html5 - All 6 options are blue, so supported. -
@csablak Usually that means the site has poor browser detection.
-
@pesala: So, is twitter such a page? Because it can not be played here either.

@csablak The video plays for me on both pages. Are you blocking third-party cookies on the first site? If you're using Linux search for other threads on that forum.
Specs: AMD A10-6800K, 8 Gb on Win 10 64-bit •Snapshot 1.16.1221.3 (64-bit)

@Steffelchen Thanks for testing.
I've opened VB-41474, hope it will be fixed soon.mf

@pesala: Sorry! No. All cookies are allowed, and are not disabled from third-party cookies. Moreover I also turned off ublock origin.
I do not understand. Beírjam a Linux szálba is? ooops...
Do I write a forum Vivaldi linux thread? -
@csablak No, you're in the current snapshot thread, but you didn't mention your OS in your previous posts, hence the Linux suggestion.

- Please, return old view of about:extensions, that "metro" style is awful!
- In last ver of vivaldi - mouse gestures work with a delay
- Inactive tabs are forgotten after minute, and when you return to them ( newslist for example ) - they reload, its really annoying
