Chromium 67 update – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1.16.1221.3
-
@steffie: Haha! Well when Vivaldi took forever to start I didn't want to shut it down either but it's FAST now. Yes I'm a bastard but I use six windows with 25 to 50 tabs in each and Vivaldi now starts them all and is useable in 1.5 minutes. This is awesome.
Hey, I should see if bookmarking speed has improved!
-
@g_bartsch Hey, me be not gonna disagree with you... remember, i've seen your mouse!
-
@steffie This mouse looks so bad. I need to make a new one. I would be ashamed to post a picture of it now! Haha. "Never judge a man by his mouse?"
-
@g_bartsch Is that Freudian?

@jengreyfox said in Chromium 67 update – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1.16.1221.3:
Frequent crashing on macOS 10.13.6 beta, with touchbar.
Bug --> if enabled restore last session --> vivaldi://flags any control will instantly crash it
add this site to the other crashing sites : https://onlineservices-servicesenligne.cic.gc.ca/eta/applicationQuery?lang=en&_ga=2.194922093.1306444807.1530235282-864522693.1530235282
macOS users do verify this : once enabled lazy restore tab , go to vivaldi://flags, instant crash
-
@steffie Maybe Jungian?
-
@jengreyfox Thanks. This is actually the same crash that some other macOS users have mentioned earlier. (Basically, there are some situations where popup and dropdown menus will trigger a crash.) The developers are in the process of implementing a fix and if all goes well, we should see it very soon... hopefully in the next snapshot. (fingers crossed)

Ah right, thanks alot Mod ~!
why i need to clarify : running beta software on beta OS, not ideal, but prepares for unwanted mess for the company im working at haha -
@theomni In case anyone was curious, it does seem to work mostly as intended as long as you are clicking on the Vivaldi UI, not the webpage. So a right click+scroll on one of the Bars will work, but doing it on the webpage, where your mouse likely already is, will have the buggy reaction.
-
@ayespy: Ok, Solved. Before this review I did not have to do anything. Turning off "use tab zoom" works as expected. I do not understand that function well, it seems to work the other way as expected.
Thank you!! -
@g_bartsch Do you use KDE on your MINT distro? It may come from Plasma. I sometimes experienced performance issues with vivaldi on KDE while plasma was going berserk over some animation/notification. So this may not even be a vivaldi bug..
If it gets high cpu, just open a terminal and look at "top".
-
@rigo Sorry, I don't use Linux. I use Windows.

This post is deleted! -
@g_bartsch Can't reproduce this.
-
@g_bartsch Thot your were mentioning something else.
As to "File->Exit does not exit," it does here.

VB-39022/VB-36171 (Crash when closing one of multiple windows) seems to be finally gone - haven't spotted it yet.
Unfortunately, I've noticed some new bugs:
VB-41408 (Opening extensions page in a private window opens it in normal one)
VB-41409 (Performance issues while dealing with many tabs) - Vivaldi is laggy and slow. Process kill is often necessary.
VB-41412 (Entering URL in a new tab doesn't load a webpage) - may be related with VB-41409. Sometimes entering URL has no effect - URL is visible in the address field but webpage is not loaded, Speed Dial is still visible. -
@jimtdi That option is usually only available if you have an extension set to run un the background.
-
I'm seeing the UI and pages become unresponsive to clicks for a few secs in one window after I close a different one. Anyone else seeing this?
-
a bug?Drop-down list will cause a crash.
macOS 1.16.1221.3 -
@mozzer Yup, new SS is noticeably more laggy...
