Option not to URL-encode the Search (%s)
-
Please add an option in the Search Engines setting to not URL-encode the
%s
replacement string for a particular search engine. Alternatively, add a different placeholder โ perhaps%N
for Non-encoded replacement. This is a per-engine parameter, not a global setting.Example: The Wayback Machine wants URLs not URL-encoded, e.g., https://web.archive.org/web/*/https://forum.vivaldi.net. However, a custom search engine defined as
https://web.archive.org/web/*/%s
gives the result https://web.archive.org/web/*/https%3A%2F%2Fforum.vivaldi.net, which doesn't return any results.(Side note: YubNub supports this already, by looking for the string
[no url encoding]
in the URL.)(Mentioned here and here, but I can't find a feature request for it.)
