What is the status of VB (=already reported bug/issue)?
-
@daylor I find VB-18405 concerning the permission mixup. It is confirmed, and still open.
-
what about VB-23790 & VB-23059
-
What about VB-40364? It's very frustrating. Every day.

VB-40364
Confirmed but marked as a duplicate of the more general
VB-40147 - "Multimedia keys open URL in a new tab"
because there is some other weirdness with those keys going on too.Just a question: Do you have dedicated keys for the multimedia keys or do you need to press something like a "fn" key?
-
I have only problem with audio keys opening some extensions popup. They are dedicated. When I use other multimedia keys with FN, there's no problem with some opening links.
Same problem with Num/Scroll/Caps lock keys. -
I'm just looking again at the restoring pinned tabs issue,
VB-30119
and wonder how that is coming along. It's actually a reentered bugreport as far as I know, since the initial ones were dismissed I believe. -
@luetage VB-30119 was a complaint that pinned tabs do not survive restart unless the startup option is set to Startup with Last Session. It was marked as a "duplicate" of a request for locked tabs, which is different from pinned tabs, and then there was discussion internally whether locking per-session ought to be implemented in addition to pinning.
It is intentional that pinned tabs only survive restart with Last Session. Therefore, VB-30119 is a feature request, not a bug report. At present there is no plan to re-design the action of pinning or the behavior of pinned tabs. If one wants to campaign for such a change, the place to do it would be the Feature Request category.
No decision has been taken whether to implement a tab-locking function, and if so, whether it should be per-session or across sessions. No "indestructible tab" is in the works right now.
-
@ayespy https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/24212/setting-to-restore-pinned-tabs-on-startup
But I was asked by a mod to write a bugreport back then, because it is indeed a regression. Used to work in versions before 1.8 and was removed without notice. -
@luetage A "regression" to some, intended functionality to others. At present, the current functionality is the intended functionality. If a person wants their browser to open clean, no tabs, but they don't want to be able to accidentally close pinned tabs, then they want to set their pins not to be closable as other tabs, but want them gone when the session ends. That is the current function. If a person wants their pinned tabs to be forever, they have to open with last session. If they don't want detritus from prior sessions, they have to select the first unpinned tab, select "close all to the right" or "close all below" and then close that first tab, before shutting down. It's a three-click process to save only pins to the next session.
So, currently, everything a user wants to achieve can be done.
If an additional function is desired, even if it was once achievable, it must be lobbied for.
For instance, I took it as a regression that pinned tabs were no longer stackable and that stacked tabs were no longer pinnable, but the current thinking among the devs is that the current status is the intended status. You can have pins and stacks, but not pinned stacks. In fact, if you use the workaround to pin your stacks, then they disappear from the Window Panel, because it can't handle them.
So things change. Currently, indestructible tabs are not on the menu. If you want them, you must push for them.

(VB-40294) YouTube Links Broken After Back from Fullscreen
Not sure why it was marked as invalid. This is the recipe and I can easily reproduce it in the latest Snapshot.
Steps to reproduce:
- Visit the link and play any video
- Click the fullscreen button on the video player
- Use a mouse gesture or keyboard shortcut to go back
Address (URL) of faulty page:
https://www.youtube.comExpected behaviour:
Vivaldi to exit from fullscreen modeActual behaviour:
Vivaldi was still in fullscreen mode, and none of the videos could be played, until exiting from fullscreen mode (F11)Confirmed misbehaving as per steps indicated by Pesala. After mouse gesture for back or pressing backspace I have to press F11 to make the UI appear.
EDIT: also pressing Esc makes the UI reappear after backspace while fullscreen.
Exiting from full screen with Esc alone works. -

Interestingly my chromium shows exactly the same behavior (meaning Chr65 to 67. Chr69 is completely broken in that regard, kills the whole UI and needs to be task killed)

Any update on VB-40630 Kaspersky Password Manage stopped working with newest update

The recent Snapshot fixed one bug with Tiled Tabs, but this one remains unfixed. What is its status please?
(VB-41453) Tab Tile Position Not Changed on Reordering Tabs

(VB-41686) Writing in dev tools console triggers single key shortcuts
(VB-41589) Vivaldi crashes when trying to open downloaded pdf file
(VB-41541) Can't right click inside dev tools after new update
(VB-41529) Can't get rid of notification question on private windows
(VB-41526) History calendar view cut off
(VB-40652) UI drawing issues --- note: something like this now happens a lot when (de) maximizing windows and when moving between monitors after vivaldi startup
(VB-40088) Last clicked extension button is re-clicked after pressing Media Volume Up/Down key on keyboard -
@jacekn said in List layout for visual tab cycler – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1.16.1246.7:
(VB-41589) Vivaldi crashes when trying to open downloaded pdf file
seems to be working again, with internal pdf viewer enabled, in latest snapshot 1.16.1246.7 (Official Build) (32-bit)

@ian-coog Yes, ditto in Linux.

What's the status of VB-41940?
In the changelog of todays snapshot there is a very similar sounding bug:
"[Tab cycler] Tab cycling in recently used order breaks VB-42002"And, indeed the behaviour has changed, but it still doesn't seem to be correct.
So now i wonder if i need to file a new bug report.
