I miss this feature terribly from Firefox with addon "Easy DragToGo+".
I don't know if the Chrome extension linked above has customizable option or not but here are some settings screenshots from my Firefox days. As you can see it literally had every option you can think of and all are customizable. I hope Vivaldi would add something like this.

this feature is a must. wonder why current vivaldi cannot do that
-
What's the status of this?
Do Vivaldi developers ever chime in on this forum to manage expectations about which features we should look forward to?
-
Be patient and in the meantime use the extension DragIt!

@drewquinton Very rarely, and not nearly often enough.
You can look at the Tags for feature request threads.
- NICE TO HAVE. (Translation: difficult to do)
- PIPELINE (Translation: on the back-burner)

No ETA is ever given. Hints that something is getting closer are utterly meaningless. So is my death!

does the DragIt! extension allow you to cancel a drag by right clicking?
-
@TsunamiZ I am afraid not.

That is one of the downsides of all the super drag extensions that i tested. I ended up changing to Super Drag for Google Chrome https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/super-drag-for-google-chr/dlknjglebgomjjfaijjnebecgjbfjihk>
Still can't drag/drop text in text boxes or cancel a drag, but i like it more as you can be less exact in dragging to open a link. Much more like the Maxthon implementation.
Making it work in text boxes and a cancel option really need to be added to make a good extension a great one.

for the "Super Drag for Google Chrome" extension, i emailed some feedback to the developer at [email protected] on oct 8, 2019 but i never got a reply. i found his email by google searching. if anyone finds a more reliable way to reach him, let me know.

I need this in Vivaldi
-
Coming from Maxthon this is something I use every day.
Can we get this in Vivaldi please ? This is so much quicker than select, then right click + search
-
I can't say that this is must have feature, but it is convenient and many users really like it from those who use Cent and Kinza. The existing working extensions demonstrate that it is not too difficult to implement this functionality, but at the same time, these extensions for the most part have not been updated for a very long time and do not cause much confidence.

That's true, as there's plenty of other ways to achieve the same. But, once you used to it doing it any other way seems archaic.
Thankfully the extension i'm using works well. It's only major drawback is that you can't cancel a drag if you change your mind.
-
i also need theis feature

@sankemao Vote for the first post if you haven't already done so. (Voting again will remove your vote).

This "just works" in FireFox... one of the reasons I still use FF every day, as I'm constantly copying links out of the browser and into other apps. Click-drag-drop is so much easier and faster than selecting-copying-pasting.
-
In which way this could be more handy than regular right click mouse gestures?

We're closing this feature request for now. There are some alternative solutions (like mouse gestures, keyboard shortcuts or dedicated extensions), and it was decided that we won't be implementing this in Vivaldi.
