Collapse Folders when Adding a Bookmark
-
@oskark : I vote for this. This is even getting quite urgent. Bookmarking something with Vivaldi is far behind how this is managed in FF.

So, finally, after 3+ years of waiting, we got this feature in the latest update! And they've done it even better than in the other browsers. Thanks to the Vivaldi team!
-
This is problem remained on the mobile version.
Vivaldi Team cannot draw analogies.
let's wait another 3.5 years ... -

Where can I select "tree vivaldi style"?
Here (current .46 stable) not in settings/bookmarks!
(Although not a real solution, but better readable than without lines)

Not implemented at this time, may be in future.
-
Oh please Vivaldi team, get your priorities right. This featrure is needed before all the fancy stuff!

Let me fix that for you.
I need this feature before others.
To collapse all folders in the Add Bookmark dialog or the Bookmark Panel, select any folder and press the \ backslash key.
-
Hello,
If you use many subfolders, the view of the folders in the bookmarks dialogue is overloaded.
All folders are open and you always see all folders. It would be great if the folders were always closed and you could open them as needed.
-
@sdtbluethink I mostly bookmark on the Root Folders so an option to have them collapsed by default would be nice or probably even better just remembering the last used layout.
-
@sdtbluethink Shortcut backslash
\
will collapse all folders. I hope that helps. -
Hey @Pesala
I somehow can't make it. Where and how would I have to press '/'?
In the bookmark manager or add dialog? For me, I always just write the character.My gaze also goes to the Android app. There the add dialog has the same problem with open folders.
-
@sdtbluethink Press backslash
\
, not forward slash/
. This works in the Bookmark Panel and the Bookmark Tab too. -

please don't forget to upvote the first post in this thread so that it reaches 50, which is "the magic number" required in order to be formally considered.
This was featured for some time, I don't know why it was dropped. Maybe a regression never reported?

@npro That is not the way it works. The Status Bar Clock feature request has only 19 upvotes when it was implemented.
I keep a list of Top Feature Requests with 75 or more votes. Not all of them are even tagged yet.
-
@Pesala That's what I was told by an official back in the day (2020) but I 've never mentioned it, 'til you doubted it.
I suppose that is the case for requests that they haven't thought themselves or are not convinced about their usefulness and they don't particularly want to implement unless it reaches that critical number where they can consider it, depending on how difficult it is to be implemented in terms of dedicated manpower and coding complexity.
-
-
@Pesala yes, because what I said most probably applies, the number is not binding for them, but it surely is a requirement.
-
@Pesala
OK. Thank you. My PC was the problem. I had to press a second button. Unfortunately, the button only works in the bookmark window, but not in the add dialog. Unfortunately, it is not a solution for Android either. -

We have all our i-need-so-much pet features.
