Speed Dial-Bookmark-History bar - how to hide?
-
Is there a way to hide this bar that runs horizontally under the address bar?

@llewellen Add this code to \Vivaldi\Application\1.15.1137.3\resources\vivaldi\style\common.css
.startpage-navigation {
display: none !important;}
}Vote for Remove the Navigation Bar from Start Page to make it easier to do.

As you have stated in other posts you're using Linux Mint this is how I do it in Ubuntu.
Close Vivaldi.
Create a custom.css file. (*Note: adjust paths if using vivaldi snapshot)
sudo nano /opt/vivaldi/resources/vivaldi/style/custom.css
Copy and paste this into it.
.startpage-navigation { display: none !important; }
To save in nano hit ctrl+x, then press the "y" key followed by Enter key.Now you need to associate your custom.css to the common.css file.
Tuck this command away somewhere as you will need to run it every time vivaldi is updated.
sudo sed -i '1s/^/@import "custom.css";/' /opt/vivaldi/resources/vivaldi/style/common.css

Hi @pesala,
I think you copied the wrong code as your own link shows the correct css code.
I upvoted your linked post. -
@cantankrus Thank you. Nano isn't pre-installed in Mint but I have now installed it. Does it matter where in the .css file that I copy and paste that script into it?
@Pesala I upvoted your linked comment. Thank you.

@cantankrus I fixed my post. I copied the wrong bit of code. The other was for transparent speed dial thumbnails.

@llewellen
You don't have to use nano. I just used nano because it's usually installed in most Linux distros.
You can use any text editor as root.
I don't use mint but the command might begksudo xed
orgksudo gedit
.You are creating the custom.css file so by default it is empty.
You can add other css code you may come across in the forums to this file.
https://forum.vivaldi.net/category/43/customizations-extensionsmy custom.css
.startpage-navigation { display: none !important; } .bookmark-bar{ font-size:102% !important; } .siteinfo-symbol:hover + .siteinfo-text { display: block; } .siteinfo-text { display: none; }

@cantankrus That worked like a charm. Thank you!
