Correct syntax for default Google search in Vivaldi
-
I prefer Google as the default search engine in Vivaldi, and for years it had worked fine. Then the search results page started defaulting to google.co.th (I live in Thailand) and to try to change that I seem to have mucked up the entry on Vivaldi's Search Settings screen.
First I replaced the default Vivaldi entry with
https://www.google.com/ncr
but that simply goes to the Google search page, ignoring the search items typed in either the address bar or search bar. What are:
(a) the default settings in Vivaldi Search Engine for Google so I can at least revert to it searching Thai Google, and/or
(b) a workable entry in Search Settings for Google to ignore location settings and search from the address and search bars?

IMHO I suggest you to use this one:
https://encrypted.google.com/search?q=%s
and setup Google language settings. -

Much appreciated for the quick response! I use the search bar quite a bit in Vivaldi and was feeling hamstrung when I botched it up.
A few more questions, if I may:
(a) was that URL suggested above the default one? (just curious)
(b) how do I "setup Google language settings"?
(c) is anything supposed to be in the "Suggest URL" field in Vivaldi Search Settings screen?
Again, thanks to @zmeYpc for the quick fix so I can resume smoothly using the internet via Vivaldi!

Not by default (it's a licensing issue), but you can add a string yourself; see

Open encrypted.google.com/preferences?hl=en&fg=1 in a new tab, and setup the Search Settings. Do both Languages > Which language should Google products use? & Languages > Currently showing search results in:, and note you may select more than one language…
Than do the Search Settings
Don’t forget to press the Save button when you’re done.I don’t think you should fill the ‘Suggest URL’. It’s not mandatory. You may try this:
https://www.google.com/complete/search?client=chrome&q=%s
Otherwise leave it empty.

@wpcoe they don't work otherwise, try with client=vivaldi and see by yourself. just put chrome or opera and they do.
