Save Opened files in Temporary Folder
-
Such a necessary function and still missing. An option to automatically clean up temp folder after the Vivaldi is closed is of course must.

15 months in the pipeline and still nothing ;o[[
been using vivaldi since the first version and this is the only real gripe I have with it (plus some occassional website incompatibily but it's quite rare)
especially bad if you use the "Update Default location when choosing Save As" which I prefer to use. Often need to save multiple related files to the same folder and this way I don't have to navigate thru folders for every file which is super annoying
sadly with this option checked when I later switch to doing something else and just want to Open a PDF to look at some data it will save it under the last used folder, so my sorted files get cluttered with random PDF files I never intended to be saved ;o]]
using the internal PDF viewer will fix it for directly linked files but not the ones that are download actions
this direct one will be opened without saving:
https://si.shimano.com/en/pdfs/ev/FH-M525-2067/EV-FH-M525-2067B.pdf
this will be saved and opened:
https://www.paul-lange.de/de/service/downloads/explosionszeichnungen.html?file=files/01_Paul-Lange/07_Service/04_Downloads/Shimano/explosionszeichnungen/FH/FH-M525-02.PDFimo anytime an Open action is being used it should be saved to TEMP directory and Opened via the OS assigned app (when the internal PDF viewer is not checked)
and the Default location should only be used for Save and Save As actions -
yeah. i have the impression, based on this and other bad behavior, that they don't want to spend time on anything that can't be advertised as a "new feature". Whether the "feature" works very well is not important. On to the next "new feature". Marketing.
