Separate profile for different users that share a desktop.
-
Hello, Everybody,
I really love Vivaldi and I would like to ask if there is a chance to create a separate profile for different users that share a desktop.Than you so much

@pozlu0 Install Vivaldi twice into different folders using the Standalone installation (Advanced Options on the Install dialogue), or have one standard install and one standalone.
Launch with different shortcuts.

Why not have two different Windows user accounts, with Vivaldi installed standard for all users? This creates a separate profile in the username\appdata\local folder for each user account. As needed, place the same shortcuts for other software apps onto each desktop, and you should have much like what you have now, except that each user will have their own access and profile. If the accounts are otherwise set up identically, the only downside really is having to separately log in/out of the alternate account for each usage... and with a short (or no) password, that's almost trivial.

You can also use 1 Vivaldi installation and any number of profiles need.
Windows 10 (x64) | Anniversary Update
Vivaldi Stable · SnapshotVivaldi Reset and Back up

This might even be accelerated by using fast user switching (and not logging out). YMMV.

@pesala Thanks, my first attempt using the url direct, took me to a page: List of Vivaldi URLs.

I would like to create two different "chrome-like" profile one for my business needs and the other one for personal stuffEven so, having separate user accounts with Vivaldi installed into all accounts would still apply. I use this computer for both personal and small-business needs. In my business-only user account, I keep my Vivaldi instance highly locked-down via settings and certain installed extensions unique only to that instance, along with having access to other business apps on the system that aren't accessible from other accounts... this enhances security for activities and data being created/accessed within that account. In my personal, limited-user account, I have an entirely different array of VIvaldi bookmarks, settings, and installed extensions that I use.
I can quickly jump from one user account to the other via desktop 'switch-user' icons in each account. This approach does require a minimal amount of user discipline to keep one's activities bounded by the account they're actually in.
