Importing Tabs from Firefox
-
Hello everyone,
I'm a longtime Firefox user who's switching to Vivaldi because Mozilla decided to basically kill the addons community.
One of the addons which I have used for a long time, and one which is likely on the chopping block, is Session Manager. This addon basically does the same thing as Vivaldi's native session saver. However, unlike Vivaldi, which saves sessions as .bin files, this addon used the custom .session file extension, so I can't just copy and paste the files over.
I'd rather not have to move all the tabs over manually. The way I see it, there are two potential solutions:
-
If there is some way to convert the .session files to .bin files, then I will be able to copy and paste everything without any issues.
-
If Vivaldi allows me to sync tabs with another browser, then I can efficiently open each session, sync it, and resave it.
Does anyone know how to do one or both of those?
Thanks,
Charlie.

@waterfire Nope. How about opening each session, saving it as a folder of bookmarks, and then importing the bookmarks?
-
@ayespy That's an option, although it means I lose any page history I might want to use. Still, I may end up doing that.
-
@waterfire Sorry. It's all I can think of.
-
@ayespy That's fine. Like I said, it's a valid solution. Thanks for your help!

@waterfire I am also a long time Firefox user who has switched to Vivaldi.
There is nothing better than Session Manager by Morac for Firefox. It automatically makes session backups, and restores them superbly. As far as I know, Vivaldi only has a manual session backup, so that is useless for me.
Session Buddy is what I use. It is nowhere near as good as Session Manager by Morac for Firefox, but at least it makes automatic session backups. -
